This might be in the wrong section, sorry if it is.

The more I play Mass Effect the more i wish the real universe was much
like it, species working together, space travel to far away places,
biotics, omni-tools and so on.

Except the bad and evil sides of the galaxy aka: gangs and a race that begins with R that I cannot mention because of spoilers.

But
no, we are stuck on a lonely planet. Only 1 hyper-intelligent race,
just going to mars, governments that dont want to do anything exciting
than just start another war and probably going to extinct humanity in
the next 100 years. At least we are "starting" space exploration, I just
wish we concentrate more on the mysteries beyond our planet!

There will always be lots to do on Earth. If we don't try to do other, exciting things at the same time we'll never get anywhere.

But yeah, I agree. I think we all do.

BUT, you must also realize how many people back in the 1700's and 1800's wished and dreamed of doing the things we do everyday.
Just putting it all in perspective.

I have to agree with several of you in the room. Look at where we as humanity has come from- war, slavery, genocide, poverty, and so on. If we don't look back at our history were bound to repeat it right? I feel like once we get past ourselves and our indifferences then we will be able to more forward as a unifided race. And start explorering our system more then the 3% we alread have.

I dream quite often what it would be like to be onboard a ship like the SSV Normandy, SSV Everest, SSV Benjamin Davis, or any other space faring ship and find new places to go. That technology just isnt here yet, but as with every great idea it starts out as an idea someone had. The omni-tools, medigels, FTL and eezo were all a result from discovering Prothean ruins on Mars, and who knows, we get boots on the ground up there we might find ruins that date back 50,000 years plus from a race that watched our ancestors. ( which would be awkward)

Yes I too wish for this to happen. It would be very exciting waking up on your own ship and get to visit real life versions of the citadel and illium etc.

Some of the posts above are true although I don't think heeding problems on earth can be dealt with without venturing into space for 2 reasons

1. Overpopulation - Humans have got to live somewhere and if we can charter other Earth like worlds we can maybe colonize it.
2. Sustainable energy - The planet Gilese D has enough energy to power our houses and cars for THOUSANDS of years. With number 1 in mind it won't be long before we cut down every plant and tree out there just to build a place to live...
