Why are digital CEs worth the same amount as physical ones? They are worth far less than physical copies simply because of the lack of value of digital artbooks, tin cases (can this even exist in a digital CE?) and fabric patches in the case of ME3. BW has gotten the idea with the SWTOR CE, where the physical copy is $150 and the digital one is $80. However, the ME3 Digital CE is worth the same as the physical one, even though it is being released AFTER SWTOR.  Why have other developers not changed their prices accordingly, with the blatant lack of value in the digital CE versions?

It depends on what is included. If a digital version includes game content unique to it, I would say the price is justified. You are exchanging knick knacks for added DLC items and levels. If their content is identical, then there is a problem.

That is especially true when it comes to art books. At least in my case, I like to leave art books out for visitors to browse through. They look nice on a coffee table or decorating a shelf. Images in a PDF do not compare unless you are satisfied with looking at them a few times and moving on.

This practice will continue as long as enough players keep snatching up digital collector's editions of that type.
