Yep, I still would. It's a bloody videogame character when all is said and done anyways.

Males are genetically programmed to target her hips. But that is just an attention getter, the draw is her personality. While only one of my save games has her for an LI, I was always drawn to Tali because of who she is. However, I felt that there was something brewing between Kal Reeger and Tali and so never really pursued it after Horizon killed my ME LI. Because Tali is not human, her personality pretty much is all you have to go on in order to establish any kind of relationship with her.

Frankly, I find your assertion regarding her to be shallow.

Talimancers pretty much ruined her character for me. I can't interact with Tali without thinking about her psycho fanbase. What started out as an interesting character has turned into an object of fanservice.

Been there, done that. It doesn't work for long. You need to separate Tali from her fanbase and then discern the fine line that divides said fanbase. At that point it becomes very clear who you should hate and who you should love. Then, it is all a matter of embracing the concept of siding with the tolerable fans and waging a war of extermination against the intolerable fans. Otherwise you're just throwing away a perfectly decent character for nothing.

It's really all a matter of the Tali thread regulars establishing new and extremely strict rules of conduct, and that BioWare steps up their moderating game and starts banning the worst and most obnoxious offenders. Not that I expect this will happen anytime soon, but hell, Rome wasn't built in a day.

I couldn't agree more with what you're saying. I'm just having a hard time doing that.

Tali is one of my favorite characters, but not because of her mask or "dem hips". I love her characterization throughout the series and it helps that her people are interesting. I think that if Bioware wants to show Tali's face, then they should do it and ignore the whining from the "Talimancers" ( what does that even mean? any fan or just the cocoa puff crazy ones?). Honestly, the only thing that would bother me is if she took off her mask and we got a look at an unmasked Predator. "Yooou loves mees Shepaard?!?!? uuummm, not so much.

I think it's a blanket term for anyone who romanced Tali in ME2, though to me it sounds more like they're trying to raise her from the dead.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not a Talimancer, nor do I play one on TV. I have nothing against the character. Its just fun to troll her obsessed fans now and then because their reactions are hilarious. Kinda like coaxing a retard into walking into a glass door.

Its not right, but its just too fun to resist, and it works every time.

It's definitely Sroka's voice acting that is the best thing about the character, along with Patrick Weeke's awesome writing. 2 hit combo that leads to one of the best and most memorable companions in a Bioware game for me, right up with Minsc and Wild Flower.

Neither of those things even come close to being in relation to her face at all, although I am strictly on the side of her face must be revealed, to end all speculation and fantasies, period. I'm not a fan of head-canon or emergent story-telling in RPGs, because the player is NOT the writer; the company is. If you want your own story then go find a Pathfinder or D&D group around your town.

I do feel that if they do reveal her face, they should base it on Sroka's real face. Not identical (going by her hands and legs, an asari-style completely human face wouldn't be right), but loosely based on.

I've long wondered why quarians wear such opaque helmets anyway (yeah, I know the real reason is to make things easier on the developers). Maybe those glowing eyes are really bright... Cyclops, anyone? Image IPB

What is it about her personality that's so captivating? The character is simple minded, she's emotionally immature, socially childish, and way too nervous to be considered attractive by an adult. Much less so if that adult is a galaxy trotting marine who has little time to fritter away with someone who has the maturity of a high school sophomore.

For the same reasons you like Jack, even though I see her as an unstable, broken, dangerous raving lunatic with absolutely no redeeming qualities. It's a matter of personal taste.

You described the majority of ME characters, congragulations.

Seriously you could say that about every character in the game and fans can refute every argument you have. You say Tali is emotionally childish? I could say the same for jack, ashley, miranda and any other character. Jack hides behind her childish rebel attitude, ashley tries to fall on the sword in the namer of her family honor, and miranda has control issues.

Is that an oversimplification of these characters? Yup. Same thing you are doing though. Also you seem to be confusing tastes and opinion with fact, might want to watch that.

Yup.

Where I see a woman who's trying to be something that she's obviously not, says the most idiotic things in the game, is not a consistent character at all, is just there for sex appeal and has a romance that makes me cringe every time I see it, other people see Miranda.

Different strokes for different folks.

To be fair shep is also pretty cringe worthy to miranda as well. Especially during romance.

I like most of the ME2 characters, with a few exceptions.
