Yeah, call me crazy, but I don't understand BSN culture. In another forum I'm active in, ME3 discussions inevitably devolve into sniping favourite characters for the lulz. Yes, everyone is a tad trollish, but it's funny - no one reacts with such precious anuses.

Well, personally I've been to at least one forum that was worse than this one, like horribly worse...
Still, there's a difference between funny and insulting, it mainly depends on how you phrase your jokes...

If you had "personal problems", it may also be due to you being relatively new and having no registered game: that's not in and of itself a problem, but in the past a lot of banned trolls resorted to create new accounts without bothering to register anything as the sole purpose of the account was "trolling till they got banned again", so people are wary of said accounts...
Once the people start recognizing you as an honest-to-goodness forumite they'll be less "suspicious" even if you crack a joke or two... Of course there's always the exceptions...

As to trolling in general I am not that rigid when it comes to things that may be insulting directed at me or at characters I like (which would encompass all of them, so it's something fairly frequent), however I hate flamewars caused by trolling, as they cause me headaches even by just watching them and generally ruin my forum experience: why should I leave a thread I deem interesting just because one thought it nice to insult another for no reason, causing a downward spiral of grief?

So if one "talks generals" and says something I think would have offended me, I tell the responsible party.
I don't mind, but had it not been me but someone else reading it there's a fair chance a flamewar would have started over what may look like a mere nothing...

If two persons are locked in "personal" attacks I generally avoid intruding though...

On topic, OP define "hot", because beauty is generally in the eye of the beholder, also we know very little about Tali's appearance and people like her even if there's a chance she is not "hot": I like fictional characters for personality and characterization, Tali is well done in these departments (at least in my opinon), that's enough for me...

Where is the problem we all know Tali will be hot. Shepard has good taste and since he already saw Tali's face i guess from his expression he was not disgusted by the sight at all. This means Tali is attractive by human standards. So Tali will be hot.......nice try OP on trolling though

As I said - that theory will get busted in case Shepard can romance a female Krogan, Batarian or Volus in ME3.

But yeah, think I should concur: no matter how Tali looks, she'll be beautiful. In worst case she won't meet beauty expections of everyone but of BW.

Well, the name comes from Tali and romance, but it ultimately depends on who you ask.

I'd say that the title is yours if you find Tali's romance to be the best one, like most of the fans do. With some exceptions. If you think it's good, but like other romances as well, then I'd say that you're more of a fan.

The title just have a horrible rep because some people can't get over a small grudge even if their lives depended on it. That's what seem have scared some people from being associated with the term. To be judged in a bad way just because of your chosen romance (which I think is a little pathetic, since it shouldn't matter, because most of them are reasonable people if you don't throw childish slurs at them)

If you liked her romance, then nobody here should alter your opinion but yourself. If you didn't, well, then you're not a mancer. Simple.

But WOULD they be angry if she wasn't, as you would put it, "hot"? If I was a woman I wouldn't consider Garrus to be attractive at all. However, his voice and personality is what most likely got him the fanbase that he now has.The same thing can be applied to Thane, and all of the other aliens for that matter(except for Liara of course, there's no denying that she looks incredibly human). I do think that some would be angry, but I think most of the people would not care, simply because it is NOT real life. Also, trying to get Talimancers to argue about this is childish. However I can tell that you are successful in your plan, as this thread already has many pages.
