well, because of my last experiences and stuff, and because of the things that has happened to some of my friends by those who were/are their friends, I open this discussion topic to see what friend means to people, and what is friendship to them and how far they will go and will stand up for their friends and lets say beloveds. so lets see different opinions from different people and who knows, maybe all of us agree or disagree o stay neutral to some stuff. and maybe something good will turn out of this and helps others to choose people they call friend carefully cause not everyone is worthy of this title.

I'm kind of the opposite. i also have a very close family, but I've also got scores of friends. Every group i've been involved with has had hundreds of members, including my high school, the local theatre community, the choir I was in for 10 years, and my place of work. As such, I've been able to meet tons of people, many of which I'm happy to be able to call my friends. Even Priestly!ejoslin wrote...
I am anti-social so I have very very few friends. Is it strange to admit that I prefer it that way? I have a very close family, though, so I don't lack in people I care deeply about.
