A friend for me it's someone that simply take you has you're . You don't need to fake a personality around them . Friend are critical but never with the intention of hurting you or condescending.
Although sometime people that ****** me off hit the nail but the difference is that my friend will only want my best.
Someone that you can trust .. So what I would do for a friend? We talk about a FRIEND right. . A friend will only need help when he really need it . He won't use you . My friend aren't criminal..
So since I made it clear (And really there's not many real friend in life. I hanged with many different people in my life but very few could be called friend) . Anything. I would lose my leg for a true friend without any hesitation.

I know he's not always been wise in his decisions, but he has been a good friend to me and harassing him like that is not nice either.

Here's a free hint for anyone who finds himself forlorn and friendless. To have friends you have to be a friend. You need to be a friend when it costs you something and any perceived reward is minimal in comparison. You need to keep secrets at all costs, to repay confidence with confidence and sustain someone else.
If you can not do that, then you will never have true friends for any length of time.

MMmmm...nicely put everything...and...I can add...a friend, a real friend...is someone who as you said accepts you the way you are and...stand beside you in both difficalties and happiness and dont abandon you. no matter what.

I have many friends, people met through work and uni who I can't really call acquaintances but definitely not people I would call in my hour of need. My twin and my best friends are the people I count on and they do the same with me. It's mutual but not always balanced as needs vary.
I know one thing for sure my best friends are the ones I'd do just about anything for.

To me a friend is someone who will take a bullet for you. And as such, I'd go so far and do the same for my friends.
I haven't met that many people like that, so I don't have many people in my life I would go so far as to call a friend.

I've had alot of friends over the years due to my constant moving growing up a military brat. The only problem with this is I rarely got very close to people, I didn't even try after awile as I knew I wouldn't know them long. But I do still keep in contact via Facebook with alot of them.
Even if someone isn't my friend I will try to cheer them up if they appear upset or stick up for someone who's getting bullied or beat up just becuase I hate suffering, I like seeing people happy. So I would go far for the few who are close to me, as I try to for those I dont even know.
