So I just finished Witch Hunt and I am left completely confused, I have just about the same amount of questions I did before I played it.

In my playthrough I romanced Morrigan and did her ritual at the end of the game, she was also with me for the archdemon battle.  She wouldn't let me go with her but instead told me that there was something over by the elf's book for me. I never get to see what it is as the credits roll instantly after the cutscene.

What did she leave?
Why won't she tell you anything other than riddles (more or less)?
Why can't you go with her?

Any other information would be nice too..

1. As far as I know, her gift to the Warden is never specified. The best theory here on the boards is that it's Flemeth's grimoire, but I don't think we've heard from a developer on the matter.

2. Because Bioware loves surprises and gotcha moments. If Morrigan told you anything useful, it would "ruin the surprise" for a property down the road. (Also, they may not have decided what direction that game is going to take, so this leaves them room to wiggle.)

3. You should be able go to with her if you romanced her. Do you have the latest patches? The end of the game was bugged when it came out, so make sure you download those.

That is a good question, what did Morrigan leave?

Flementh's grimoire makes sense as her last comments about Flementh indicates that the Warden should be worried about her.

That said it is also possible that Morrigan holds a grudge against Flementh and opted to leave the grimoire as a "gift" in order to make the Warden more useful of a tool in carrying out that grudge, in DA:O Flementh wasn't really killed when the Warden fought her-supposedly at Morrigan's behest-so maybe she figured a Warden both concerned about Flementh and with a greater knowledge of what she is and can do would be more likely to kill her for real.

On the other hand we don't know if Flementh has good or bad designs for the world or Morrigan in specific as she doesn't seem to be terribly open about them herself.

Both Morrigan and Flementh keep secrets which make it harder for the player to determine what the "right" or "moral" path is let along giving script writers more room to come up with a plot.

Here is a question though.

What happens if you romanced Morrigan but didn't do the ritual?

Witch Hunt, correct me if I'm wrong, seemed to focus on if you did the ritual. But I didn't and since Loghain preferred to sacrifice himself via archdemon rather than doing it neither warden available did.

But Morrigan was recorded in the epilogue as being a former lover of the Warden-so her having a child isn't unthinkable. Does Witch hunt matter in that regard, can it even happen?

I've done Witch Hunt twice, once with a Warden who took the Dark RItual and once with one who did not. Neither romanced Morrigan. I found it a pleasant diversion when I played with a Human Noble, but a compelling bit of closure for a Dalish Elf. So... personally, whether or not I did the ritual wasn't even a factor. I've heard others say it's a more satisfying end to the Morrigan romance, whether or not the DR was taken.

I seem to recall that the DAO epilogue slides will say that Morrigan is seen with an infant if the Warden sleeps with her at all. So unless you romanced her chastely, I believe that a child is the canonical result. Whether or not the child has the soul of an Old God would depend on whether or not you took the DR.

I don't know if you can go through the mirror with her if you turned the DR down. The dialogue on the wiki seems to indicate that perhaps you can, but there are a lot of question marks sprinkled by those dialogue options. The folks in the Morrigan Research and Discussion Thread might know.

it should be noted that in Dragon Age 2 the grey warden has mysteriously vanished.
If the warden followed Morrigan through the portal then that is the cause
but if not....?
Is Morrigan's "gift" responsible for the warden vanishing?
was it a trap of some sort? or something that sent the warden away on a long quest? or something that someone wants badly either abducting the warden or forcing the warden into hiding?
we have to wait to find out....

I always assumed the gifts were the various items that are unlocked after you complete the quest: Vestments of the Seer, etc.

But I did find myself with more questions than answers after doing the quest. The mirror seemed to be the same kind as the one that Tamlen disappeared into in the Dalish Elf Origin story. Tamlen's fate was not so good. A lot of questions here, but few answers.
