Dunno. Right now that's true, but we had also times when we were almost about to end that relationship. Depends on the issue I guess. And no, it's not a problem like "cheating" or "you are fat". It's more the age difference - most arguments are caused by that. She's 10 years younger than me - and I am almost 30. Oh and we're together for a tad more than one and a half years now.

       As far as I feel there was no break up Shepard died. Now if your talking about Horizon I also don't feel as if that was a break up, but more of a bad argument. (Some of) the best relationships are ones were couples work through horrible problems and dissagreements and come out of it even stronger than before.

I wouldn't say that email is a "I love you" from Ashley. It uses the same poem at the end of the message - the very same Ashley used to "seduce" Shepard in their night before Ilos - which indicates Ashley still cares for Shepard in a romantic way. But is it love? I don't know: Shepard might be still in love with Ashley since from his PoV only a few weeks have passed since his death.
For Ashley however, two years have passed. She spent a full year to mourn over his death (indicating she was truly in love, it was more than a ONS!) and couldn't move on the second year, even when trying it. I mean, Ash is not ugly, not at all, but it doesn't look as if she got a new partner in all that time. Not interested? Not enough time? Or simply not ready for another love? I guess it's the last option.

Since she never fully recovered and dealt with her feelings for Shepard, she's still attached to him. I guess Ash hopes to kick the door open again so their old relationship can be renewed one day. That's why that message, that's why the poem at the end. It is, as I said, no full "I love you", more the first hint that she'll welcome a return of romantic feelings between her and Shepard.

Further reason your Star Wars analogy didn't work. I'm not getting into this. I just popped in to stop a faulty analogy from getting taken for granted.

 For me it depends on which VS we´re talking about. As far as Horizon goes, I understand both reactions completly and can´t balme them for saying what they did. I´d be pissed too if I was in their shoes. The difference starts with the email you get afterwards. It feels like Kaidan did move on or tried at least since he writes that he´s going to date a doctor on the Citadel....so if that isn´t a break up material then I don´t know what is....<_<

I like Ashly´s mail so much better. She is much more mature and understanding about the whole situation. And the poem in the end, just shows how much she still cares. So if I ever make it through with my Mshep, he is definitely getting back with Ash! No weirdness attached 
For my Femshep thou....I don´t know. I have a problem accepting a guy who says he cares for me and wants to go out with another girl at the same time. It´s just wrong and definitely wierd. So no, there will be no Kaidan for my Femshep in ME3  Especially since there are other options...

Haha, you know it´s funny how much I can´t bear Jacob´s romance because of this line but how I just love this line alone.
I´ve seen it used so many times in different context and it was hilarious yet when it comes to Jacob it´s a disaster! 

And yes, dark ex-cop vigilante, definitely my type  (just don´t throw things at me for saying this I came here in peace )

Sure I look at myself, in fact most recently I had a fit of I am the common denominator, i.e. why it doesn't work but say take my last, I worked my ass off to make it work, was partially long distance but I think we just didn't fit, which deosn't excuse her cheating, also she was probably too young. Kind of girl...they were all different, so can't say that and everone thinks their partner is faithful, until it happens.

Too early to say "yes" or "no". As long as Ashley stays Ashley characterwise I'm okay with her new looks. If Ashley is entirely different, there's nothing that keeps me interested in her.

So basically I don't mind her new looks that much. Some details could be changed - white "panties" should get less visible by picking a darker color. BW should also check textures (brows) and I wonder why they changed Ashley's nose. It was perfect as it was, no need for cosmetic surgery.
However, that are just details I can accept as long as Ashley feels like Ashley.

If Ash starts fangirling (like Tali, Liara) over Shepard or turns out to be vixen like Miranda, I can't keep that romance anymore. Either Ash stays Ash or her character died (will die).

he said he saw someone for drinks at the urging of his friends, BEFORE Shepard showed up....  I know that e-mail is vague but... lord... he didn't say he was goinfg to keep dating her, he said he was trying to move on, but it didn't work.

he said that when he saw Shepard, everything just grinded to a stop.  if thit's not declaration of feelings still there, then...

Ashley is more direct.. as its in character for Ashley.  they are both mature.


anyways Stardusk if every girl you ever dated cheated on you you either have a horrible taste in girls, or you did what one of my exes did and just assumed that they would cheat untill they got tired of being accused of something they didn't do and decided they might as well fulfill your expectations.  might want to go ahead and look at how you chose your partners, what is it that you do in relationships that you have YET to date a single capable of fidelity person.  and stop assuming that everyone is like that.

I haven't read through anything here but I agree with the idea of it, from the title. Shepard wakes up from death after two years and makes no effort to get back in contact with the person he was in a relationship? That was really poorly handled by BW.

And when you select Ash, TIM says that she is on a classified mission even he can't get access to.. So if anything its not like you didn't try its just by the time you where even allowed to make a real desion she was out of reach.

Don't forget if you picked Spacer background, your mom send you an Email asking why you haven't concated her for 2 years. So its not just Ash

I didn't miss that option

However, I wonder why is it impossible to contact Ash after Horizon? And what's the problem writing an email? I'm sure Ash has an email account and access to a computer, even in the middle of nowhere. So while it's not possible to meet her in person -before- Horizon, Shepard still could write a message. He also could ask Anderson to send Ash a message. Also, as soon as Horizon is over you can return to Anderson which will give you a different answer now regarding the VS. The "classified mission" is over, there's still no option that allows Shepard to send Ashley a message.

Why that? I simply can't get it into my mind.
