So i know you will be able to import character model's from the toolset to use in your Mod.  Would i be able to create a character via the toolset and upload for use a playthrough. Also, would it be a more comprehensive system or more like a rehash of the character creator.

Harumph, I posted a reply to this a few hours back and the board ate it.

You want to use the morph editor in the toolset to create a morph you can use in game? The answer is we don't know just yet. I'm pretty sure this will not be an 'official feature' provided by BioWare but there might be a couple of 'unofficial ways' but those potential ways have not been tested yet.

I haven't used the character creator yet but I think the toolset morph editor is definatly more robust.

U should wait 2 see what the game offers first. Modders will quickly fill in gaps.

It seems logical that they would include the functionality to add new presets, but sometimes what is logical isn't what happens.

You need to wait for a few hours for it to come up and appear.  It takes a while before your chracter creator morph will show up for you to use.

I noticed the file it saves is a 3dsmax format, though 3dsmax won't take it... maybe they will add support to import their version of the .chr into modeling software; or maybe someone will find a way... I really hope so, because I'd love to make very specific characters.

just because they share the same file extension doesn't mean they share the same format.

I am also interesting in making very specific characters using my 3d modeling program. I already have a monster that just needs to be textured and rigged to be brought into the game, and I'll have to create a custom head that I need to bring into the game.

I didn't have a thorough look into the CC's files yet, but it looks like the game will use the override-folder, like all, or atleast most of BioWare's games do. My guess is, the character presets are simple .utc-files, which can be created/modified with the toolset and put into the override-folder to replace the original ones.
