Sylvf, did you write LotSB? I've often wondered if "Operative Morat" was a reference to The Player Of Games or just a coincidence?

I was one of three writers on LotSB. I've read some Iain Banks, but that particular line wasn't mine. (I'd promise to ask about it, but things around here are a little hectic at the moment and I'm afraid it might slip my mind. If you don't see me post here in a day or two please assume I'm busy bug-hunting.)

Thanks for the answer. OK, it would be great to know but I understand if you're busy. =]

I'd like to see Sheploo's ME2 smile appear somewhere in the game somewhere. That and a "but the prize" line come back.

I bet it is. The Player of Games is one of the all time best sci fi novels ever made, period.

If Ashley makes a few Evil Dead one liners at the husks, I think that would be awesome.

She definitely needs to refer to her shotgun as her "boomstick"

I want developer references.

You could always encounter a VI discussing the possible consequences of shepard's actions. "Worst case scenario...End of Life. I would suggest being excellent to each other in the moments before, were it to occur."

That's actually an excellent Idea! Tbqh this Reziarfg really slipped my attention, I actually stumbled upon it while surfing through the Beastiary but I thought it's just a Super Unique Defiler and so didn't pay too much attention to it!

I've used to see secret rooms made by level designers with unique textures and props. That may not be appropriate in ME (especially it's TPP). There are many ways to do such thing:
- background animations (like with Legion);
- character models based on movie roles;
- fake commercials;
- dialog lines;
- models/props/details with references;
- strangely familiar names.

I'd like to see Farscape reference. Or other sci-fi shows, even less known such as Andromeda or Lexx.

Ha I know what Ester Egg, everyone would want, no special weapons or armors, no characters named after the devs, but Garrus saying calibrations at least once, who would say no to this ester egg, huh?

1. The Shep VI
2. Keeping with the trend of Monty Python references (i.e. "I got better" in Thane's recruitment) go with the "just a flesh wound" line. Or something similar from Holy Grail. Possibly a machine that goes "Ping!"
3. Bruce Willis' line from the Fifth Element, "are you classified as human?" "Negative, I am a meat Popsicle." Or from the same move, "Anyone else want to negotiate?"

4. Joker saying, "I'm a leaf on the wind." ala Serenity. Or have Ashley use one of Zoe's smart ass lines.

That would be cool, and go onto the Ebon Hawk and see that HK-47 is still working, and asking you if you want something kill.

To be fair the "I got better" quote could also be a Babylon 5 refrence.....then again I'm pretty sure that was a Monty Python refrence......so does this count as meta refrencing? This said, I am always for more monty python refrences :D

Shepard VI and to get that varren who follows you on Tuchanka onto the Normandy (so he can play with your cybermutt).

Oh yeah, and I finally want to meet Hannah Shepard.

This is good.

I would also like some KOTOR refrences, babalon 5 refrences, and a few Robotech refrences.

Babylon 5 line was ABSOLUTELY taken from Monty Python.  In fact the Babylon 5 line is even closer to the original Monty Python line than is ME2. http://users.tkk.fi/...ontypython.html scroll down appropriately.

It could only be a "meta reference" if it also pulled something original from the Babylon 5 line. The only original part there was "neelix." Since ME2 used "you were dead" not "she turned me into a <blank>" it doesn't even remotely come close to Babylon 5. It's Monty Python through and through.

I want a scene in a Human bar on another colony while Earth is being destroyed where everyone is drinking themselves to death with Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper" playing from an antique jukebox behind the bar and a Turian in the corner dancing along banging a cowbell to the beat.

BUT IT HAS TO BE A TURIAN!

"I gotta have more cowbell!" ..And Christopher Walken should be his turian buddy in the background... :devil:

Also, Firefly and Battlestar Galactica references would be amazing! ...I'd love to run into Mal Reynolds in the battlefield and later in a bar or something. :D

..I also want to talk to the Hanar again. I miss those big stupid jellyfish!
