 Hmmm, that's weird. Are we just ignoring Kaidan now or what? He was hands down, THE most important character in ME1. He was there right from the start, and never, EVER, questioned Shepard. You know why? You wanna know why? Because he was great. A great dude. 

So why didn't he get a new haircut? Simply because people are afraid of change. Just look at all the Ashley fanboys/girls/things.. They're angry. The're really angry. 

But he should get it anyway! Oh yes, I just went there. Kaidan should get a new haircut. Maybe a mullet? Or a mohawk? Any suggestions? 

I know there will be a lot of supporters of this, so feel free to put this in your sigs: "I support a new haircut for Kaidan in ME3."

Ashley got a haircut, but Shep-loo's haircut has remained the same. Are we ignoring Shepard now? He was THE most important character in ME1. He was there right from the start and never, EVER stopped talking. You know why? Because he's the main character.

So why didn't he get a new haircut? 

I dunno.

Ah, benefits of alpha channels. I'd rather say Kaidan looks now like designers wanted him to look few years ago, but due to some limitations, he ended up with helmet instead of hair.

There was a King Zeel, too. I wonder when it will come to Peasant Zeel.

On topic of "Kaidan now looks like he was originally intended to, but Ashley changed" - maybe if BioWare was able to do ME3-like hair (new glossy textures, more or less natural look) back in ME1 times, Ashley would get loose hair from the beginning? Reminds me of one concept where she has jaw-length hair...

Very likely. It ain't a coincidence Shep (and tons of other male heroes) are bald. Not only it appeals to core demographic, it's also SIMPLE to create. No long hair necessary to animate, flow & look natural. But now the tech got better so it's easier to pull off human hair, hence they can do whatever they want.

Kaidan didn't need a redesign because his hair is already boss.

Besides, Ash doesn't look that different in her armor. At least from her concept art

Clearly he has to have the option to fight shirtless. Sex appeal, after all.
