2. It is perfectly possible to express oneself without resorting to curse words. If that is troubling for you, I would suggest locating a dictionary and perhaps a thesaurus.

I like this poster. He understands.

Cause i didn't know if there was a filter, i myself put a * to censor it, so i don't know how i'm going to pass it if i'm censoring myself.
And if i'm not wrong (correct me pls) this is a game for +18, why there is a filter o.o?

Instead, I will allow you to go forth and locate a book of children's names. Let me guide your reading a bit - go look at the J section under male names. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but expect a revelation.

Post-op or pre-op??

As to your first point, the censor replaces all letters of a curse word with asterisks. The reason for this is because, frankly, the only person that changing a single letter is going to obfuscate the curse word for is someone who has never seen that word in print.

As to your second point, because unlike our games, our site is viewable to anyone who wishes to go online, and so we try to keep it relatively PG. Our games are already classified under the ESRB, so certain things are allowed in them that we do not allow on this website. More than that, though, I feel that cursing tends to degrade the level of discourse on any community site - certain words are emotionally charged, and curse words almost always fall under that heading.

But the forums need to be emotionally engaging! A well placed f-bomb brightens up everyone's day!

So yeah, about that multiplayer...

If you understand that i wnt to pass the filter, that wasn't the idea, if i wnt to pass the filter to bother you and the entire forum, i'll write curse words inverted or find another way, so i'm sorry if you understand it in that way.

At second point, i didn't know.

Back on topic, no to mmo.

Unfortunately sir, there isn't much to talk about. All we have to go on is this rumor from a supposed insider and the precedent set with ME3 multiplayer. Without confirmation, all we can really discuss is the likelihood of the inclusion of multiplayer in DA3, what said multiplayer will entail for DA3 and our opinions on the matter. So, baseless speculation and opinions.

All before DA3 has even been officially announced.

I can imagine they will probably do something like a horde mode DA style by being on a battlefield and having to defend from an attack with groups of you (i would say 4 people or more) and constantly gets harder till it becomes virtually impossible to survive.

(just imagine doing a fight like Ostagar on the actual battlefield as grey wardens and have duncan and King Cailan ordering what to do)

No other mode would really work with DA except the Mass Effect system of online Co-op story mode of course.

but I imagine it will use the Mass Effect: Galaxy at War system but with a Dragon Age twist to it.

i'd wouldn't mind it if it was like what they are doing with ME3, make a character, and have it take place during Single Player, and have benefits.

So Gears with swoards then? I am dissapoint, I want clan matches, Orlesian vs Free Marshes type thing, with soccer and softball mods and community maps.

Ok back on topic then...I think there will be even more multiplayer mandates in the future with the newly formed BioWare Social subdivision for social-network RPGs.

Imagine it - having your team (or inner circle I suppose) of casual-gaming friends building up your armies in Facebook or Google+ in between status updates - each of your circles of friends begets a Circle of Mages for you.

All the while, you connect to XBox Live using DA3's Thedas At War mode and use those Circles to boost your Annulment readiness level against your best friend's Templar lynch mob.  But when you go back later to check on Facebook, you discover that your brother was playing online and was bolstering your friend's Templars instead of helping a brother out.  This can't end well.

well its hard to do anything else with Dragon age because it does not lend itself to an MMO in its current form, team deathmatch would never work because of too much variation in fighting and it being a slasher it would be the one with the most team mates or faster button mashing wins.

which just leaves online co-op and I do not see DA becoming a puzzle game anytime soon so it will have to be co-op missions and horde modes pretty much. which removes the need to be the best button masher in the world and keeps the style of DA.

Could end up with one group defendind a circle tower holding up the world update for all the servers forcing the Devs to done their epic armours to take em down with a few top teir players one of whom has defected to support the group holding the tower............

Did anyone actually not see this coming?
We are not the target audience anymore. They are streamlining to the more casual players for a bigger market. Its over. It was over the second EA bought BioWare

unless of course this game doesn't do as well DA2, in which case maybe they'd get a clue, or they will blame Bioware, screw them over, and leave them for dead..........like they did with Tim Schafer and Brutal Legend.......either way its a bad scenario.

It'll need a skyrim level advertising campaign. And then it'll do exactly what DA2 did and have its sales completely plummet after bad word of mouth. So lose-lose.

of course in Brutal Legend's case, if was COMPLETLY EA's fault, as they marketed it as a Action Game, when it was really a RTS............so technically that was false advertisement.

i dunno, maybe the Single Player in this will be good.

time will tell, although when ME3 comes out, we will likely get our answer.

Or maybe this 'rumor' was leaked so that EA/Bioware could see just how disinterested the buyers for the IP are in regards to an MP, which according to the 'rumor', would not be co-op, but an arena style player v environment or player v player(with either other actual player characters or players playing as dragons). Exactly zero mention of a co-op at all, especially anything reminiscent of NWN or BG.

So, while I'd sincerely hope for there to be exactly zero MP in the DA IP, I suppose it all depends on how the profit-loss statements come out.

LOL.

That's why 4 years ago I closed all my accounts on the browser games I was playing (I was quite successfull in Popomundo and Hattrick). That's why I will never be part of a social network. Those kind of games/networks are all kind of tamagochi. They are all skinner box just like the overglorified WoW and that explain its success: forget about design, business model and all that crap. It's just about basic human psicology. Those games abuse cinically of the worst elements of human nature. They are traps.

I really don't understand the allure of having your game linked with facebook, google+ and so on. Why you want me to be allways online playing your games? Why you want me to socialize at all costs with strangers I do not care about? It's a single player game for god sake! When I want a sense of relation or community, I go out and meet my friends and relatives. For me playing an RPG is like reading an interactive fiction novel. I don't want people to screw with my enjoyement of the book.

Thats the problem... I don't care what they say, it will have a negative impact on the SP.

Well you know in the good old time of flight simulator/space simulator or return to castle wolfenstein
The main game was SP but you could play single event PvP and or Co-ops.

Ie the campaign was SP but you could us map and a given battle situation in multy player.
Boss fight could be a nice co-ops and darkspwn vs rest of the world in random encounters.

So multi-player is not necessarily bad but the notion that you would have to play MP to get boons in SP kind of smell a bit and it ain't teen spirit.

A Multiplayer element fits well in a RPG Game. It really depends what do you implement.

A versus mode:
- In the Dragon Age installment absolute senseless. Why? Then tell me how you want to implement "Death match", "Koth (King of the Hill)" and other versus modes that are absolute essential in a Versus Multiplayer Part. Planning to do only one-on-one has no sense. This modality wouldnt be played and would never become popular. You think im wrong?
Then go and look at the multiplayer leaders like COD, Halo, Gears of war, and many other. Why are there popular and played, because they offer only one-on-one VS mode?

A coop mode:
Yes, it doesnt matter if you offer multiplayer coop in a shooter campaign or other game genres. A coop mode is always popular and brings people together from all over the world. Its pure fun to play with new people, have discussions while playing.
It offers you also the possibility to have intense Coop Campaign fights in the highest difficulty.

In short:
- Coop Multiplayer Campaign -> yes, please for the win!
- VS mode with DA characters? Are you joking? Otherwise show me how this should work.
