No. Shepard was already dead. Don't want Shepard to die again.
Do you WANT Shepard to die?

No because I don't want to be cool on the internet. I just know it would happen after how many people went mental about MP.

I never want anybody to die. Unrealistic, sure, but I'm a sucker for a happy ending. I'm sure if it's done well, I'll enjoy it.

Oh, of course I want Shepard dead. S/He's everybody's least favourite character, after all. Might as well put the poor thing down before demand for their canon death starts a mob rage.

I'm happy with Heroic Death or Happily Ever After or pretty much any other "end" for Shepard provided it's done well.
I second that statement!

I want there to be an option for Shep to die, maybe even an option for a heroic death, but not a scripted death.
I am willing to bet that there won't be this option. Me2 was somewhat a fake death option, reserved for gamers trying to kill shepard off; it wasn't natural. As for ME3, how can they make the biggest event in the series an option? In Virmire, there was only an option as to who, not whether. It would be very ballsy by BW, but I can see them forcing Shepard's death. I wouldn't be opposed from a story sense.

I'm open to the idea of having that as an option, but I'd rather my Shepard survive. Especially with certain relationships that have formed, I believe some won't be able to bear losing Shepard (again for some). Just my perspective though, as it mostly ties in with being romanced with Jack. She's been through all this sh*t and finally finds some happiness and then Shepard ends up dieing (for whatever reason, heroic death for example). Personally, I would find that such a depressing end to their relationship, but again I'm open to the idea.

I wish to save the galaxy, but I plan to live and tell about it.

I dont WANT it but I wouldnt mind it. It would be a really powerful end to the series and since they're planning to make more mass effect games without shepard it would also kind of make sense.

No. I've gotten attached to my Shepards and I want them to live. I wouldn't mind if there were endings in which Shepard died, but it shouldn't be unavoidable. I'll nerdrage pretty hard if that's the case in ME3.

Agreed. If Bioware needs Shepard to disappear, Make Shepard a recluse like Jon Grissom of the novels.

Thinking about it, I'd be ok with a martyrdom/self-sacrifice to save the galaxy ending as an option for anyone who didn't do enough or make the right choices to get a successful, full victory. You'd still have an ending where you'd messed up, but you'd at least be able to get a kind of happy ending despite that.
But if that where the only way to get the best ending, I would be incredibly pissed off to the point of no longer wanting to even play the game.
If there's no ending where you can kill the Reapers, save the galaxy and have Shepard ride off into the wild beige yonder (ie: just as satisfying as the awesome endings of the last two games) with their LI then frankly I'm not giving Bioware my money.

If it can be a viable option I wouldn't mind it for instance with DA you could live or die it seemed plausible either way your character could choose to die fighting the blight in a grand or self abusing style or they could live have Alister die instead and keep on going till they die several years later.
I would like something where shep can decide to kamikaze it and kill himself for the greater good or use some creative way that allows him to still defeat the reapers and he and his crew live (though the second option will be harder to get) Like for instance we have a nuke we're going to use on the main facility that allows all the reapers to exchange thoughts through it's a SM shep lost all his crew in 2, he got the geth/Quarians to war so they're useless, he lost Asari and Salarian homeworlds the Krogan, Rachni, and Alliance aren't enough to take Earth back so they chose this route he makes it into the reaper station and blows up the nuke choice 1.
Now same scenario but in choice 2 he didn't have the geth/Quarians war so they're on board he has the krogan, rachni, salrians, and the Asari they're all fighting for Earth with the Alliance he's out here doing a secondary but no less important assult he uploads EDI into the small ship it makes its way into the reaper station and blows up shep lives, Earth is saved, and all the reapers in the galaxy are confused and can't mount proper defenses and can be picked off alot more easily.
But if shep does die I'd really like a funeral for him and to see the after math with my crew like DA did that was nice and different.

Of coerce I don't. Killing the main character doesn't suddenly make story better.

Well, I don't actually want anyone to die, but I do think that's a good reason why it could be moving if they happen and are done well, and I do think some main character deaths should occur for the sake of good storytelling. I mean, it's a war story and we're playing a soldier working with other soldiers (or warriors, for lack of a better term, and, erm, very dangerous scientists) on the front line risking our own lives for the protection of others. I think with this type of story things like friendship, duty, honor, loss, the risk of death, sacrifice, making difficult decisions, and basically climbing the steepest mountain possible to save everyone else should be the sort of themes we see in ME3. I'm happy for Shepard sacrificing herself to save everyone else as a potential option as long as it's pulled off well. Main thing for me is that at least some important people die no matter how well I play (or least only make it possible for all squaddies/former squaddies to live if you put them first before the mission too much).

If he dies it should be well done so as to not cheapen the character.
Id like to see some endings with Shep making the sacrifice amd some where he lives.

While I accept an outcome where he/she dies, I wouldn't be happy if that was a set outcome for the majority of endings.
It would also mess up the NG+ games a bit.

What? Of course he/she should die. But only in my first playthrough. I'll probably try out every "bad" "evil" renegade decisions, and watch my renegade shepard die that heroic death. But only in the first playthrough, after that, I'll try everything else.
