Hmm, ... well. Not much new and certainly not enough to speculate on, but a nice find anyway.

Sweet.

What kind of content was cut, anyway?

"BioWare's Ray Muzyka has said the script for Mass Effect 3 has changed and may change even further away from the leaked version that slipped out earlier this month."

Now all of y'all shut up...

sounds like a subplot of unknown length based on the citadel, which was a significant piece of the the plot was cut from ME2 for whatever reason and they are now doing it in mass effect 3. no idea what it is.

Ps: @someonwithmass, your signature frightens me

I don't know who's dumb enough to think that some major magical overhaul of the script has happened. Let's make this clear, development schedules aren't some trivial thing that you can just revamp every time the fans get upset. The big decisions in the leak are probably the same.

Then again this is BSN.

"...but I can't say what it is," explained Walters.

"BioWare's Ray Muzyka has said the script for Mass Effect 3 has changed and may change even further away from the leaked version that slipped out earlier this month."

The new version will now include a full musical number and sock puppets. DLC may feature it, dependent on fan feedback.

Ho-ho-ho!

Unless they make it half-ass, there won't be major main plot change unless they delay the game.

Gonna change the script? I hope they don't change anything that was good. I haven't read the script, but if they take away something phenomenal I will kill that russian who gave the script to us.

I remember them saying the script was an early draft from a little early in development? I myself haven't looked at the leaked story anyway so meh.

Then again, you're actually believing that it takes a massive rewrite to put in something like a reference to ME1 or something that they have planned out before.

Which is hilarious and dumb on its own level.

If that's the case and the script is significantly older than the date of the leak (perhaps even older than the beta's build), then the majority of these changes will have already happened prior to the leak. Anything they change now is probably editing and minor line changes.

Of course if Bioware was in fact telling the truth and the script is in fact out dated then they could've been making changes this entire time. If not I'd be perfectly fine with ME3 being the new Half Life 3...

the interview makes bioware look bad, no matter what basically.....he says they changed the script and may do so further, but he also says that a small percentage probably read the leak....so they are changing based on an even smaller group, that didn't like the script.....he's either lying or stupid, which is worse?

Nothing says that they started to work on it today either. It could be done for all we know.

By the way. That script? It was rather incomplete/had obvious missing moments.

You always manage to misrepresent my point. I know they can include extra content, they can even write a new bloody character if they want. What they can not do is make MASSIVE changes to the script. They've been developing on the basis of the leaks and damned if they're going to change it 3 months prior.

And even if I grant your premise that its an early development script. Then the changes are ambigious to us, and would have no relation to what the fans want.

Mass Effect 2's premise and possible endings were a headache to write around, Walters admitted, particularly given the need to prepare the ground for a threequel.

I don't think I'd call it 'trapped'," he explained, when asked how he felt about having to accommodate several possible player decisions at key plot junctures. "They're more hurdles. Sometimes they're hurdles that we've given ourselves, so we kind of smack ourselves in the head and say 'What the hell were we thinking? Why did we do that?'

The classic example is 'Hey, let's make the ending of Mass Effect 2 a suicide mission where all your henchmen can possibly die, and Shepard can even die!' Oh right... and then we're gonna do another game after that. What the hell are we gonna do with all those guys?"

LOL

I doubt anybody here thinks that the final product will be completely changed from the leaked script, so your assumption is inappropriate.

Okay, can someone point me where they said that they started working on changing the script today? Because it sounded more like they were already relatively done with putting in that content.

If this whole Citadel content is just another side mission (and it could very well be) then they don't need to rewrite much that will take a massive chunk out of their time.

That's it.

Not sure, but I'm fairly certain I don't.
