Voted 50%, although it's something between 50% and 70%. Which would be reduced to 20% if we take Origin into the equation.

just a tad harsh there, and thats me being generous. did you completely ignore all of the CAPS LOCK warnings about not basing your opinion on things like origin?

I ignored nothing, I voted without Origin influence. I voted 50% instead of possible 70%, because I'm a little pessimistic lately, deal with it. Had I taken Origin into consideration I couldn't have said more than 20%. That's it.

Besides that, as much as I understand your desire to judge the game for itself, some people just can't. Take a look at the huge thread discussing Origin, if you don't understand the problem. And althouh I did it right here just for you, I can't and won't be able to judge the game for what it is if it comes with an Origin requirement. Because if Origin is mandatory it is part of Mass Effect 3, wether you like it or not.

Believe me I would so love to just wait for ME3 to play it, but Origin is a dealbreaker.

@Arbiter156. We are here, If you look at my posts I generally am positive about this game, pessimistic about reality, but generally I want to avoid the negativity to something I REALLY WANT TO ENJOY AND NOT LET A SCRIPT PLAY THE GAME FOR ME. Nor do I want haters to influence how I am going in.

Life sucks, ME1 and 2 are awesome, ME3 will be too, but haters wanna snuff what little enjoyment I can have in this long wait.

life doesnt suck it just depends on what you do with it, for me ife is pretty sweet, ME is one of my favorite gaming series ever, i dont understand the whole bioware have fallen argument or the GOW with chioces that dont matter argument (wait people want below acceptable standards of shooting like ME1?)  and the frankly stupid evil origin spyware argument, i say F*CK THE HATERS.Image IPB

you've made a huge leap between market studies and spyware, again EA just wants to know what you do with thier games. i fail to see how EA can make money off of your folder names, even if they could go through all of your files, they gain nothing from it, aside from information about what people do when they are lonely (you know what i mean) which could be rather hilarious, but still pointless.

Origin has been caught looking into folders that have nothing to do with any EA product and even making changes in files. It has been caught sending information to Amazon cloud servers.

You fail to see how can they make money of that? It's easy: We know people who play "that game" also tend to have "that things" and usually don't have "that other things". That helps us making a profile of the "average consumer of that game", which is useful info for us, or for any other companie with whom we have good relationship and wants to make a game similar to "that game". So we sell them our analysis of the data collected by Origin.

The purpose is a market study, the tool is an spyware.

And I don't care if in my computer there's a lot of useful information, or if there's nothing. That's not the point. Even if it was completely empty, I wouldn't let them take a look.
If EA changes Origin client so it keeps inside it's own folder, then problem solved. But I don't see them doing that.

For example Steam has never been caught doing that. People monitorized it's activity (the same way as Origin's activity) and it never does anything outside Steam folder (except the user explicitly tells it to do).

has it not occured to you origin is relatively new? you know when you install a new progam it will often ask you (but not always) if you will let it make changes to your computer. you do also realise people have already found ways to restrict origins activity, i forget exactly where but search and you'll find it. the probable reason origin has been found outside its folder is that EA has firstly not resticted it to that and also to search for other files that might be relevant of course they had to rush it out since they probably would have looked bad if they had to release BF3 or ME3 on steam after their fall out with valve. so origin is still in need of being programmed to discern what constitutes relevant files and thus any file with a hint of whatever it is searching for is considered relevant. any information that isnt actually needed by EA is likely thrown away when they recieve it, they dont break laws untill they start using data that is not theirs to take, so they are getting off on a technicality otherwise, they would be in danger of being taken down by the governments of repsective countries.

Large companies break laws everyday and then nothing happens except a few minor fines. That info is very valuable (much more than you are assuming), and the risk of having legal problems is not big (in the US).

They may not break US laws until they use it commercially, but in my country no one can look into my files without the permission of a judge (and that's how it should be) and a police investigation on course. Even my internet supplier would be commiting a crime if it was caught looking at my internet record.

Not everyone. I'd say it's half and half. The cynical vs. the optimistic.

*cough* news of the world phone hacking scandal *cough*

yes the amount  of money they make is huge but they make far more from selling their games than they do from selling market research. im one of those people who doesnt really value money, £30 jacket, £70 jacket same difference to me.

THE POLL IS SPECIFICALLY ABOUT ME3 AND NOTHING ELSE, PLEASE DO NOT BASE YOUR ANSWER ON OUTSIDE ISSUES SUCH AS WHETHER YOU LIKE ORIGIN OR NOT OR WHAT YOU'VE HEARD/READ OF THE LEAKED "SCRIPT" (WHICH HAS LIKELY CHANGED A FAIR DEAL)

VOTE ON THE GAME BUT DON'T VOTE ON INTEGRAL PORTIONS OF THE GAME GUYS, OK? NO VOTING ON ANYTHING ELSE OKAYAMIGAWD.

I'm sorry, but Origin, is a significant deal for the majority of the PC consumers.  As I said on the poll, its the only thing bogging the game down, and will be the last game I purchase from BioWare, and possibly EA as a whole.  That being said, I'm almost going to be entirely limited to indie game devs as I've already completely stopped buying all Activision Blizzard, and Ubisoft games.  The only other large publisher that I sort of like left is THQ.

</3 BioWare.

I voted 30%. Bioware have done a really good job so far to drive my expectations and excitement down. Hopefully when i get the game in my hands it will exceed those expectations.

90% for decency's sake. In reality I'm absolutely behind the game and every decision made by the devteam so far, but nothing is flawless and I'm sure I'll find my gripes once it comes out. So far, so good.

80%. 90% if Origin is not mandatory for retail version. I'm gonna buy it as soon as its available here. If Origin is mandatory, I'll still buy it so I could finish the story but it's gonna be the last game I buy from Bioware.

@Ravenmyste - Wat. IIRC, one of the earliest locations it was revealed Shepard would travel was Rannoch.

As for the game, I'm around 70, 80%. There are some developments (both characterisation/plot and game features) that rankle me quite badly, but I'm more than willing to give the game a chance and put faith in BioWare's execution. It seems illogical not to do at least that much.

If Origin is required, though...well, that may be a deal breaker. If worst comes to worst, I'll be forced to extort my brother-in-law's Xbox off him.

50% - Though ME:2 is my favorite game and something I play quite often, concerns over Origin have caused me to have a great deal of concern over ME:3. If it is not required for the retail version, then I will buy the game on release day. Otherwise, that 50% will drop to a 0% as I, and other fans, will simply not buy the game.

The multiplayer put it from 100% to 70% for me. I did pre-order the CE as soon as I could, though, but that doesn't mean I'm happy with the direction the series is taking.

Between 30-40. I was extremely excited after ME2, but for a host of reasons I'm disappointed and very concerned. Waiting until reviews and a pricedrop. I have really no excitement for it now.
