If Origin isn't required for the retail PC version I'm 100% excited. Are you kidding? ME 1 & 2 were two of the best games I've ever played and I have no reason to think that 3 isn't going to be just as epic.

The only other upcoming or recent game I was really this excited about was The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. (It's awesome by the way!) I figure that by the time I get done playing it ME3 should be just about ready to come out.

Hopefully by then Bioware will have come out with the announcement that Origin will not be required for retail PC versions and everybody will be happy.

Huzzah!

Edit to add: I didn't vote on your poll. Sorry.

Until I know the answer to the Origin question I can't. Take it like this.

No Origin? 100 %

Origin required? 40 %.  I won't be able to play on my PC and I'll be using a used version for the 360 so no multi for me.

Sorry to poke your bubble of hope but, if you intend to download ME3 you will be using origin as the client app, as for online its probable EA will require origin, i can't see them changing their minds on that and making up with valve. origin monitors what you do with EA's games so it will probably want to know how successfull ME3 co-op is.

if you are 100% stoked, but dont like origin then perhaps 80-90% is more appriopriate, i wasnt enthralled by multiplayer but that shouldnt have a major impact, and neither should origin, as it is NOT THE GAME, its just a client app.

If Origin makes him not to buy the game, then Origin's impact is more than 50%. And as long as Origin is mandatory to play the game, it is part of the game (even if it's a useless spyware).

For me no Mass Effect until someone finds a way to bypass Origin (as it's been done with BF3), or EA does major changes on the client (which is most likely to not happen).

It's sad for me, because ME1 and ME2 are two of my favorite games ever, but there's no way I install the actual Origin client in my computer.

no offense but i find this opinion/reaction to origin frankly ridiculous, what is so bad about it im at a loss here.

no its just that the actual fans of ME3/those with the sense to see reason are often quite silent, whereas the trolls/haters are very vocal which is why we hear about them all the time.Image IPBImage IPB

If you think it's acceptable to have a useless program, but mandatory to play, that invades your privacy and collects info about you without giving you the chance to refuse (the only way to refuse is to not install it, and therefore not play the game), or even informing you that it's doing it, then good for you.

For me it's on par with having EA wiretapping my phone, or opening my letters, or sending people to make a list of the things I have in my room.

Origin is the deciding factor for me as well.
Have to have Origin (even for SP) = Won't buy it, and definitely not installing the game on my system, unless there is a way to go around it, so 30-40%.
If Origin is not required for the SP however, I'll say 80%, since I don't care much for the MP component.

Between 80 and 90 for me, closer to 90 though. There have been a few things here and there that I haven't liked all that much, but nothing that has seemed like it would be that big of a deal thus far.

When someone writes "retail" that usually, at least in my neck of the woods, means walking into a store and buying the game on disc and then installing the game from the disc. Otherwise it's a digital download.

To be honest if Origin in required no matter how the game is bought --retail or digital download--my stokedness should be more like 5-10 %.   But this is Bioware and ME3 so I gave them a bit more credit than that.

One final thing. If the Origin client is required to be able to play the PC version of the game that makes the client and the game part and parcel of the same thing.

Saying it is NOT THE GAME is kind of like saying that your legs not part of your body. You can say it all you want. Heck, you can scream it from the rooftops if you like.

That won't make you right.

when i say part of the game does origin have  button you press to make shepard stand and salute EA? no it doesnt, when i say part of the game im talking about what you play, not where you get it from or how it is loaded or whatever.

I'm a 70, mainly since I didn't preorder. I'd say I'm around 76, 77.

70%... Origin and multiplayer are the main issue.

Though, I didn't read the leaks... so, can't say more. If what people says is true, then it's more like 40%.

I'm hyped, that's sure, but i fear the RPG part will be secondary...I don't hope so, I wanna play an RPG with an excellent shooter component, and not a TPS with some RPG elements but I wanna trust Bioware!

Good luck with that ever happening.

<Sigh> Again?

Well I'd have to say 80% because of that. Nearer the release day I expect the marketing to start so this will probably change.

Gonna sound like a bit of a suck-up, but I'm 100% behind everything I know so far. I haven;t read the leaked script, but otherwise I've kept abreast of pretty much everything and so far I've genuinely liked it all. Even the co-op looks nifty.

Also, to the people who voted 10% - why do you come to this forum? I'm not trying to sound confrontational, its just curiosity - surely you have better things to do than hang around on a forum dedicated to a game you've already declared you won't be buying and have no interest in?

That's because it isn't released yet.  I predict a loud, vocal, minority who will hate the game.

I'm 100% stoked for this game, i'm very excited with all the new features they will be including. Loved mass effect 1 and 2, got no doubt that bioware will deliver when it counts.

I'm 90-100 I love and enjoy everything so far. Mass Effect will always bent top. I loved the Series since the beginning and will continue. Im hoping extremely for Deeper and better Exploration, Character Customization, Offline, Local play enabled for CoOp/Multiplayer and special and quality time with LI, sexual scenes return would be nice. That what I really really hope and want, those features. I'm happy though with The Game, I already have preordered since first annouced as well The Collectors.
