I don't care if its been posted before but I have a problem, I just bought the Ultimate Edition today (a physical disc copy) because I wanted something to play on my new PC. So I begin the install and it fails every single time, my computer more than meets requirements, its like it gets to a certain point then fails, so I restart installation and it fails again at a different spot this time.
And if I'm having this much trouble with just the regular insntall I can't wait to see what installing the DLC disc will be like......
Is this a huge issue and is there a way around it or is my disc messed up and I've gotta bring it back.
It won't install at all.....(I'm sure its been answered but I\\d appreciate a straightforward answer to my question)

Given your attitude, and since you failed to provide any "straight forward" problem report, have you decided that everyone you might meet in here is clairvoyant?

Wow, I'm glad that you found the need to be such a jerk there, I'm asking a question

maybe the fact that your 'question' began with the words "I don't care if it's been posted before" actually influenced the response (or lack thereof) to your issue. perhaps it's as innocent/simple as you not knowing the difference between "I don't know..." and "I don't care..." (these don't mean the same thing - even when they are put together in the same sentence - just to be clear), but if you are that careless and/or unfamiliar with the language, then you might want to think twice about casting aspersions on someone else's manners before/instead of trying to figure out what you might be doing wrong.
...not to mention (again) that you clearly disregarded the simplest of stickies at the top of this forum and provided almost no information at all.
hint: "installing the CD version of Ultimate Edition on my new PC fails every time" really doesn't narrow it down. these people know more than you about technical issues - that doesn't mean that they know exactly how or why your installation is failing. the responsibility of the person who needs help is to provide every detail possible, so that the people who are *voluntarily* helpful don't waste time and energy repeating themselves or overexplaining the various possibilities as to what *could* be wrong.

In the past, when there were plenty of polite members needing answers, we got out of the habit of playing the politically correct routine of coddling the feelings of every sorehead in a bad mood. We simply tell them how the cow ate the cabbage and ignore their childish tantrums.

between the Cult of 'TL;DR' and countless other collapses/mockeries of critical reasoning, i have felt like a curmudgeon-in-training for some time now. that was more just a venting of accumulated pressure than it was inspired by any notion that i could actually make a difference... leaving aside the unlikelihood that the 'target' monitors the thread.

I "made my bones" in curmudgeonry ages ago and then began feeling grandfatherly, when I was rejoining the Bioware Legacy forums for NWN2. I've been a couple of other Avatar names over the long stretch since game forums moved off Bulletin Board type systems and onto the Internet.
P. S. Between 1993, roughly, and 1997, I think, FIDO allowed gamers to save on their own long distance costs and use a local BBS, for store-and-forward messaging, very similar to the ways forums work, with an overnight delay while all the stored messages around the world gradually made their way back again, so that there was a constant overlap, but the threads looked much the same.
Prior to about 1997, internet charges were treated more like long distance charges, and too expensive for ordinary folks to use for anything but eMail, which we would read and reply to offline in the early days.

As have I, GA (although only one avi name for me.)
The number of people "asking" for help, then refusing to perform the basic steps to be able to obtain it, even when those are spelled out for them, continues to surprise me. (Shouldn't, any more. But does...)

There's a duplicate new thread today, more "attitude" once again.Thandal NLyman wrote...
