I don't know much about the Qunari but the Arishok from DA 2 is the main Arishok of Par Vollen and the Qunari right?

If so, wouldn't they be really, really steamed now that their Arishok was killed by Hawke? Is this something that could offend them and offend them enough for them to break their treaty? Is there anything I'm missing here?

Also inb4 'NO I WANT THE HERO OF FERELDEN AND THE BLIGHTS NOT STUPID OTHER PLOTLINES BECAUSE I'M UNORIGINAL AND WANT THE SAME STUFF EVERY GAME' (believe me, there are people who say this on the internet)

The qunari don't seem to place any importance on revenge. To them, the dead are immaterial. In fact, by slaying the Arishok, Hawke seems to have earned a place of respect.

It's true that the Arishok was their main military leader, but he himself could not return to Par Vollen without the Tome of Koslun. If he never recovered it, then it would be the same as if he died. So the loss would be felt either way.

That said, the qunari don't give a rat's ass about the treaty. It exists because the nations of the bas demanded it. The qunari follow the treaty because it suits them for now, but in truth, they are really just biding their time while preparing for another invasion.

Nope. To the Qunari, dead is dead. They don't look beyond that. Not to mention that what Hawke and the Arishok did is a part of the Qunari way of life. To them, Hawke being both basalit-an and the person who faced the Arishok in a 1-on-1 duel -- as the Qun dictates should happen in those circumstances -- makes them respect him even more.

Shot Answer: Qunari are wierd, they dont think like we do.

Long Answer: As mentioned above, the death of the Arishok would not be terribly upsetting to the Qunari as a whole, since the Arishok died fufilling a demand of the Qun.  Further, I think that the Qunari are so filled with rage over the rampent individuality decadence of the rest of Thedas, that there would be little room in their hearts for revenge even if they were so inclinded to engage in such a thing.

The Arishok returned triumphant with the tome of Koslun in one hand and the scrawny neck of the thief in his other, don't believe the illogical lies of the fat dwarven braggart who licks the murderer Hawkes boots.

There is an option to let the Arishok take the tome and Isabella with him. Isabella escapes and steals the tome again, but oh well. In any case it wouldn't be Hawke who is the target for the Qunari wrath but rather Isabella. Also if you kill the Arishok the Qunari return with the tome and the demand of the Qun has been met. No more reason for revenge. The Arishok dies an honorable death anyway, and Hawke honors the deal. If anything Hawke gains the respect of the Qunari.

They were planning to attack anyway, this doesn't really change their long term plans.
