Daily I have been eyeing DAO (collector edition) and wondered if I should trade it in. I dont foresee myself playing it again and I never purchased DA2.

(sigh)...I loved DAO, felt robbed with the DLCs (price vs quality), cant express the disappointment with DA2 and since playing Skyrim I couldnt care less about this "rumour" or the fate of DA.

Thats pretty much how it is with me. I absolutely fell in love with DAO, and when DA2 came out im like. Wtf is this? Just completely killed the series for me. Im not even interested in 3 because I know it will be more like 2 than DAO. I too am playing Skyrim. I love it because DAO is probably just as good as Oblivion maybe even better. Yet is there any question what so ever if Skyrim is better than DA2? Murders it in every aspect. An EA+Bioware equals RIP to the quality we came to know Bioware for in exchange for nothing but rushed titles and 1 title per year instead of working on them longer like they should. ME3 shouldnt be out until 2013. DA2 shouldnt even be out yet either. But oh well it would appear Bethesda is the only company left who seems to care about making quality games.

How does multiplayer even work in a pause-heavy RPG based on party tactics?
By removing parties and pause function.

I'm figure it will be PvP. If not PvP I figure it'll just be you and some friends hackin and slashin.
Or Both maybe.

Well, I'd hope PvE. Because PvP might get them to nerf status effects even further. Wasn't there some buzz about playing a dragon in multiplayer, too?

Well I thought I read something in the rumor thing about an arena. Made me think either PvP or players in an arena against a boss or something. So I guess it could be either PvP or PvE.
Edit: Yeah
The multiplayer is supposedly an arena-based affair and features player
versus environment (PvE) elements as well as player versus player (PvP),
as well as humans fighting dragons. Details on what PvE battles entail
are scant.

Exactly. To get one feature, you sacrifice two.
That is basically how it works with most gaming-related 'progress' lately.

That sounds ominous. Fingers crossed they don't design SP around MP...

Oh, you mean the pathetic WoW system of "balance" either by rock-paper-scissors, or by dueling nerfs to appease the whining of PvP players, depending on the patch?

God I hope this isn't true.
Id' rather they fill the gaps in the story and focus on the companions than add a useless feature that no one was asking for.

I'd agree, though it would be fairly interesting. Gameplay wise, Bioware often times creates absurd builds which overpower everything and rarely get fixed. PVP would atleast try and make them strive for balance among three classes where there isn't one that clearly dominates.

So you're confirming it right now then? Or is it another ME3 esque moment for you Chris?

DA3 will have multiplayer. This applies to every single EA game to ever come. EA wants to sell online passes to used game buyers and they figured multiplayer would be the best way to get a hold of the extra $10. Hence, every upcoming EA game will have some sort of multiplayer tackled on, whether it makes sense or not.

Yeah, this is known. What surprised and disgusted me about the Kotaku article, however, is that somebody in charge of the Dragon Age franchise thought that mindless horde mode hack and slash was a better idea than co-op that doesn't interfer with STORY...you know, that integral part of RPGs, that keep fans coming back for more?
I'd really, really love to see them confirm it, just to see devs try to justify selling us more rushed, shoddy products while budget and resources are going to this.

Sigh multiplayer in DA? This is a good example of why, I generally stick with Square-Enix. Final Fantasy X Remaster/Remake will be out next year or early 2013, yep DA3 has nothing on that.
Oh god, i may as well enjoy being outside and having a social life while i can. That game was pretty much perfection (for me).

At this point, such a statement from anyone at Bioware is more confirmation than not.
I wonder if DA3 will still have an "awesome button".
