I do support BG-style multi player in DA3 any day of the week though. Joining my friend's campaign to take control of their companions in battle sounds like a very nice way to go through a good plot together =)

If this is true I can only hope that they ditch the entire idea and focus their resources on actually making the singleplayer good
Agreed. Of course Bioware denied the ME3 multiplayer rumours loads of times, and look how that turned out. I'm going to believe this rumour is true, so I'll just hope they get a ton of resources so it doesn't hurt the single player.

games do not need multiplayer in order to sell.
Somebody send EA the sales figures for Skyrim and Witcher 2. And remind them to check their own figures for DA:O while they're at it.

So yeah, DA3 multiplayer is only a possibility.
Then again, DA3 on Wii-U is also a possibility.
And 3D.
And Kinetic and/or PS Move.
And voice commands for even PC.
.
.
.
And so on and on.

I'm going to have to take up deep sea diving or jogging, or perhaps start playing a trombone, so that my lung capacity is large enough to sigh with the necessary force and duration when that day comes.ratzerman wrote...

If it is done properly it could be quite good
If done poorly, it will be horrible...

Besides, everyone already knows that the best way to have DA multiplayer would be a Gauntlet style four-player co-op.
What do you mean "Gauntlet" style ?
But yes, 4-player co-op is how I envisionned things. Preferably not a full-scale campaign but more like multiple small-scale adventures, which is much more convenient for a multiplayer game where every player's schedule does not necessarily allow them to play for hours upon hours at the same time. Also means you don't have to deal with long-term consequences of choices made by other players.
Gauntlet was a single/multiplayer game in which you ran through dungeons in a team and killed monsters got loot etc. Read it up on wiki.

Skyrim, yes, Witcher 2 is not a huge seller, having sold only about a million copies, which is nice for a PC only title i guess but not what EA is aiming at.

What's the best way to win back fans who were disappointed with DA2? Horde mode, of course!
This logic is brilliant and cannot fail.
I never want to hear a Bioware dev talk about limited resources again, however. If they could create this, and not release an updated toolset, it is simply because they do not care about the audience that would create and use mods, and they do care about courting the CoD crowd.
I'm sure this new direction will work *fabulously* for Bioware.

It is rumored that theoretical physicists Michio Kaku stated that "bowstrings require a Type IV civilization on the Kardashev scale to implement in Bioware games". Non-stipendiary Visiting Professor in the Department of Atomic and Laser Physics at the Centre for Quantum Computation David Deutsch on the other hand may have said that he believes "a quantum computer will suffice to display bow strings in DA3".
Some people have caught computer scientist Donald Knuth drunk on a party shouting "Bowstrings in DA3? The very idea! I am investigating the matter and I am currently writing Volume 8 of The Art of Computer Programming, which will be dedicated to the topic."

This rumor has the same credibility as Kotaku's.
Which is not to say either one is wrong. In fact, my rumor just feels right, doesn't it?

Ah. Frostbite 2 engine. It can display anything from beautiful landscapes to choppers in multiplayer. There is one thing it will never be able to do: Bowstrings.

I don't see why developers have to ruin the brilliance of single player experiences. Single play sells. Did they not see the sales of Skyrim?
Man, I'm half tempted to go find an old laptop with Windows XP so I can play Baldur's Gate 2 again, just so I can enjoy the SINGLE PLAYER EXPERIENCE. If I want multi, I'll go buy a damn MMO.

If DA3 goes multiplayer, I will not be buying. It's why I will not be buying Neverwinter Nights. And if multiplayer ruins the Mass Effect 3 storyline, I'm going to be very disappointed.

Wait, you wont buy Neverwinter Nights because of multiplayer, but you'll player BG2 which also had multiplayer (albeit more primitive)
