This month’s challenge is “Winter Stuff”. Could include new clothing models, new creatures, snow/ice placeables, winter life tools/structures (igloo, dog sled + team, firewood pile covered in snow), lots of scripting opportunities, winter sounds, etc.

This theme was suggested by The Amethyst Dragon.

Once again, the possibilities for content types are pretty much endless.

Rules:
- It must be fully working in game.
- Use of vanilla NWN or publicly available texture is fine, though state-of-the-art amateur's work would require 100% original work, but that's up to you.
- Teamwork is welcome.
- Beginners most welcome, don't be afraid, just try, you'll be surprised!
All submissions must be finished, working, and emailed to me (NWNCCCMakers @ gmail.com – minus the spaces obviously) or a non-Vault link provided by January 3, 2012 (which is a Tuesday) at 10 AM EST. Sooner than that is perfectly fine too. ;)

Some things you could include in the download/email that would make packaging everything up easier and faster (otherwise I will just pester you with questions!):
- 2da lines needed.
- Screenshot for use on the vault page (this also gives me hints on how to display the new goodie).
- Portraits (if needed) of your new goodie. ** Placeables and monsters should include a portrait. **
- Inventory icons (if needed) of your new goodie.
- Any credits you would like listed.
- If this is your first entry, please tell me what name you would like your work listed under and provide a link to your other NWN content if you want that displayed as well (the link bit is totally optional). Also if you would like an invite to the CC Makers group, send TheSpiritedLass (aka Mistress) a friend invite. The group is nothing spectacular, mostly just documentation on 2da lines.
- If you are doing tileset content, *please* let me know ahead of time so I can get you the set and itp files to work with. I’m horrible at merging those so this bit you will need to provide.

Remember, the Challenge is all about fun, sharing, creativity and surprise!

If you have concerns/questions about this month’s Challenge please post in this thread.

If you want to discuss the Monthly Custom Content Challenge idea as a whole or wish to submit ideas/themes for future monthly Challenges, please post in its thread here. ***When submitting a new theme, please provide a title and short summary of the theme.***

If you have a technical question about some custom content creation, please create a separate thread so that the answers can be found later by anyone, not just people interested in this Challenge. We'll try to help!

Have no fear and join the fun!

And finally, you can vote for January’s theme right here. The voting dead line is January 3, 2012 at 8 AM EST.

*Looks out the windows and scowls.* Okay, just because the theme this month is winter stuff that is no reason to have dumped a bunch of snow in my yard! *Eyes Bannor and wonders if this is revenge for the whole hidden map thing.*

Would someone dump a bunch of snow in my yard? Please? I'd be happy with a couple inches of the stuff, a couple of feet would be awesome.

I'm stuck living near Phoenix, AZ, and could use a "winter" that's more than "it's just cool enough outside to wear a jacket...after sunset".

Amethyst: At least we can drive 2 hours north and hit Flagstaff! I do have a photo from my backyard here in Phoenix from when I was in the 1st grade. You can see the pool, the saguaro, the palm tree, and the knee high snowman we were able to build using all of the snow that fell that morning.

hehe...that would be nice, but a two hour drive with four young kids would be, at best, unpleasant.

Now, back to thoughts of NWN, where things are not depressing. :)

I loaded up my pickup with snow and started heading your way...unfortunately, the sun came out, the temperature rose and it all melted...

Ahhh... so AD suggested this theme. For him it is FANTASY. Woohoo.

I like these south-western winters out here in California. That snow stuff can stay up in the mountains to the east for when I am ready to enjoy it.

I was thinking a Polar Bear Mount would be appropriate for this challenge.

If Draygoth wouldn't mind... I might quite like a go at skinmeshing those legs. The seams are particularly noticeable on a white bear.

Draygoth, I like what you've done so far with that mount pack you have - each model is better than the last.

Now I feel old. When I saw that polar bear I wasn't thinking of the Golden Compass but of Erekose. Anybody who's as old as I am might know who that is.

I wasn't thinking of this "Golden Compass", but  Northern Lights.

Don't get me started on the philospher's stone either.

<steaming up...>

Hmmm, now that you phrase it that way, I wonder if I can't trick, er, bribe, I mean ask Cestus to create a foggy breath effect... <sure ya can, old man.... since most of that would be scripting and that's *your* job>
Hmmm. Point.

<...his spectacles>

Love those models!

But why are they in the desert?!

Need melting ice pools...

OK so I've just this minute sent a small number of frosty ground placeables. Is this the fastest submission ever?
