I like them both, if you look at each game for what it is, you'll have a ton of fun playing both of them...

DA2 was fun to play but DAO was a vacation from reality and you come back all ful of epic feelings.
I bought DA2 a year after the release for 20 bucks and I knew what I was getting. I do feel if they had never added the 2 to the title it would have been better received.

Well... I HATE tedious recycled areas, and almost non romantic "sex me baby one more times", but at least it is not so dpressing, but I think that through the time it took them to make the unneccesary wounded coast, which is pretty much one long walk, they could have probably designed some new areas to make it more exciting. DA:O is almost perfect, the only flaws being the deep roads, the fade and sten. OH! RIGHT! I LOVE the voice acting of the player in DA2. I just don't know which is better, likely DA:O because it's much more EPIC!

DA2 was decent-it just couldn't hold a candle to Origins. It would have fared better if it hadn't been called DA2.

The biggest reason is no toolset, so nobody could even really fix the shortcomings. It still wouldn't have been as good, but it wouldn't have been so off putting either.

AMEN!!!!!!
I will sing the praises of DA:O until Doomsday, but even the best RPGs could stand a little custom tweaking here and there - if not for bug fixes (which DA:O needed in spades) then just for continuity patches and aesthetic tweaks.
I love DA:O. But I love it even more with its awesome mods. Every game should come with its own toolset, because there will always be someone out who will care enough to go the extra mile that the developers can't be bothered to/don't have time to.

Dragon Age 2 lacked the feeling of conclusion.
And also the companions were not cool.
I mean, listening to conversations between Oghern and Sten was epic.
