Hiya sweeties,

I'm afraid this isnt a scripting question but I don't know who else to ask and you guys always give answers.

Anyway, when I create a character all I get for head choices are the few ugly ones from way back, I don't get any of the newer ones. Can anyone tell me why?
I'm using the Diamond edition and I did the critical update thingy. Have I missed doing something else?

During character creation, haks are yet loaded, so no new heads will appear if they are in a hak. You could overcome this by preloading some or all of your haks (if you use any). You can also make new heads into an override. There's also a limit as to how many heads you can choose from during creation regardless of how many head appearances there are. So most PWs use a NPC Appearance Modifier/Dummy to make changes after the PW is entered instead. There's several on the Vault and I believe the CEP has one as well.

Thanks sweetie. Actually, my PW has everything needed for customizing heads and other stuff. I was actually asking because everytime I try other people's servers, I don't get to choose a decent head. So I thought maybe I'm missing something, like an important update.

I think that what most people do is pull the heads out of their PW of choice's haks and dump them in the override folder.

By default, we only get the old ugly heads.
That'll let you choose any head that you want. Just be careful because you'll depend upon their 2das and models once you log in. So, if your model doesn't exist there, or if your 2da is different from theres, your head may suddenly become a goblin head or something.
Best to just open their haks and use what they have.

It's been a while since I messed with this though. If no one else can answer for sure, I'll take a look when I get a chance and see if I can't give you a solid answer.
