It's been proven that dual wielding the way it's done in video games is complete and utter ****. It's not a realistic thing to do in how they do it. But for video games, knock yourself out. It doesn't seem to be something that would fit with how you're supposed to play the game, but let the developers do it if they feel like it. I have to go.

If I wanted generic shooter options in my Mass Effect I would just buy...

Oh wait.

dual wielding is nice but only if you can shoot two different targets at once and not having focused targeting only

Oh wow, didn't see that type of comment coming at all...

I'd be for it, if not to at least try it out.

My answer to the original OP:

No. Reasons? You don't hit sh*t with that.

Yeah sure. Might as well. My beloved epic space saga is slowly being diluted and dumbed down for kids/morons. Or someone else. Not me though

I'm just saying, with EA throwing in an MP componant Mass Effect is looking less and less like an RPG, and more and more like a Red Faction clone.

Dual-wielding handguns... hmmm... trying to find a nice way of saying it's Hollywood crap... you can't actually hit much doing that.

It's quite possible, just not as good as shooting with one gun.

Sorry but dual handguns is totally ridiculous. Unless this is Die Hard. Die Effect 3. Mass Hard 3. Wait...that sounds so wrong

Actually it's a great idea for a co-op. You get two sniper rifles, each in one hand, and switch on the sniper mode. Then you get a splitscreen - on one half you get one eye and your colleague the other on the second half. Each one uses one sniper scope to take multiple enemies with two sniper rifles at the same time. THE HORROR!!!

Duh, take it one step ahead and we get two people controlling one half of their character each. Cue to both halves trying to go in opposite directions.

Reminds me of Halo. I honestly don't think that will be ME3 unless the developers decided to do something with pistols and Sub-Machine guns.

You do realize that most FPS games nowadays allow for dual wielding in some respect, right? Not just Halo.

Of course budgee it's obviously your saga, and in no way Bioware or EAs and of course when you streamline a game to make it more lively it's being dumbed down and of course it's to serve the flock of sheople that you are clearly far too intelligent to ever be a part of.

And of course the people who express an opinion on a vitaly necessary game separate from your own are worthy of such scorn as being called morons. It's just so obvious.

Of course.

I have never touched real guns myself (pretty hard to get if you don't have a hunter's license where I live), but I'd imagine that shooting akimbo anything often results in misses.

What is the average weight for a pistol, anyway? Close to a kilogram?

My personal firearm, a Sig P229 .40 cal weighs 905g dry (had to look it up, not going to lie), but It is one of the heavier compact frame handguns. The Glock 23, which is also a compact fram .40cal handgun but with a polymer frame weighs roughly 670g dry.

I mention these because they are both types carried by law enforcement and militaries, though sometimes they will use the full size frame versions of these as well (the P226, and G22 respectviely) and those will be slightly heavier due to the slightly longer barrel and frame.
