What about ME1's big final decision? In ME2 the council doesn't matter because we're outside council space most of the time. But I believe a human council and an alien council would handle the war on their own territory quite differently, and making all the other species join in the war effort would be a lot different too since aliens see the human council as illegitimate usurpers and bullies. Deals should be arranged. Promises should be made and then broken.

Being able to get your Spectre status back or not should have mattered too. Both in ME2 and in ME3.

True, true. But don't expect to see more socio-political stuff, as Shepard himself says that he's "a soldier, not a politician".Nyoka wrote...
I think it was expected TIM was going to use bad, bad technology regardless. Just look at those eyes. But I agree that ME2's big final decision should have mattered.

But the full human Council is apparently retconned out of existence. The new alien one will apparently appear in ME3, although we should've met both of them in ME2 already,

It's a great big T-800 it's already anthropomorphised.

I'm not saying each playthrough should be like a different game. All alien races could join at the end regardless, but the cost of that could be different in each case. I can see the Turians demanding his territory extra-protected in the case of a human council due to the old grudge (most of the hierarchy's high command could have served in the first contact war), and that could very well cost humanity their off-council-space territories-just an example.
Another thing is we need some ambiguity towards the earth. Let's improvise, what about a Terra Firma assassination attempt against a Shepard under an alien council's orders? They can believe the reapers are just special council warships (most of them haven't seen a ship in their life) and Shepard is somehow related to the attack because he's a council spectre and has betrayed humanity. There aren't a lot of things stupider than political extremism. Make Shepard think just for a split second whether these people are really worth all the effort. I know there are other humans trying to kill Shepard (Cerberus), but those are Officially Bad Guys, so they aren't useful as moral triggers.

@Kaiser Shepard well, we've already seen political maneuvering with the Krogan and the genophage. Wrex knows the Krogan are needed and he doesn't hesitate to use that leverage to make Shepard go save the fertile female. That politicking is the point of pretty much all the video we've seen so far.

If what that one guy said is true then you might be right I mean if our choice from ME 1 was retconned in 3 then Bioware has some f**king explaining to do .

You just can't make a comment without resorting to the most overused insults in the world, can you?
You are the prime example of why this forum needs a comment filter. To sort out wastes of space like yourself.

I think you're mistaking butthurt for bored.
By the way, you're telling me that I don't have a life, yet you're the one who's on this forum for the sole reason of finding people to throw the insults of a twelve year old at? That's comical.
But I digress.
There are plenty of other ways to defeating the Reapers than giving TIM a blender.
