That always sounds good in theory, in practice it's rarely true.

From what I've seen, pessimists make themselves so miserable that when things DO go their way, they're so rotten that they don't enjoy it anyway.

There are actually lots things in the leaked script I really don't like. Still, I'm focusing instead on what I like/am excited about and choosing to stay positive. That way, I'll get over the stupid easier and overall be happier about it.

Just friendly advice, take it FWIW.

People are taking the leaked script way to seriously and way out of context. People are reading the script as if it were written as a book or a play script which it is not and beyond text we have no idea how anything will be delievered beyond what has been shown as of now. People are assuming alot based off of text alone which is wrong. Most movies and games sound horrible just with the script alone and nothing else. We do not know what has been changed or added since then and just responding with, "they can't possibly change some of the major events with only 5 (now 4 months)", is not a good enough excuse to be sore against Bioware and that is still plenty of time to add things and make changes (granted nothing majorly huge but changes none the less).

There is quite a bit missing from the script, and much we don't know.  I'm using the script as a baseline to see where the final product may end up because that's the direction they were heading in.  When I saw that the second, larger leak file had romances in it, but we were still writing romances as late as a few days ago, I knew that the scipt would have substantial flavor changes at the absolute minimum.

 Wow this thread sure increased quickly, but yeah people have their own morals/logical reasons for saving that base. Though I very much disagree with doing so. When TIM wanted me to give that base to him, so many red flags popped up in head at that moment. I knew if I gave it to him it would most likely lead to some bad ****.

Though I can definitely see why some people would think taking it was a good idea, though that would depend on the them having faith that TIM/Cerberus would do the right thing with it. Though as we can see; they were wrong.

I don't regret not blowing up the CB for a second. Now, what I DO regret is having any confidence in Bioware creating anything other than a pretentious Ratchet & Clank/Gears of War clone with irrelevant "choices" and spineless hackery that gets passed off as "writing" that panders to their audience of emotionally unstable paragon xenophiles.

"Your completely ruthless the next thing I know you'll be wanting to grow your own Reaper" that does sound like something TIM would do

@Saphra - from page 9: I don't intend to "impress" - and I am not formally trained in logic - but 1) I do not use the term "logic" to justify all my beliefs as if it were some magical word. 2) As a fairly accomplished bull****ter - I feel confident that I can recognize when someone is trying to pass their own opinion off as the very last word on a topic.

The leaked script  is full of bad story and choices from what people have read it and seen it . the parts I saw of it tells me that Bioware had no clue at all what story they wanted to tell in 3 . The demo leaked info will be in the game unless EA delays the game or Bioware can make some quick changes . Now if it was a old script from last year then yeah I would feel better but it is not or it wouldn't have been in the demo files

Let me guess.

You disregarded everything that had nothing to do with Cerberus and judged the whole thing accordingly.

Because it's rather clear to me what kind of story they want to tell in ME3.

The Reaper invasion starting on June 6 and everything.

The reaper invasion story has been done before its called alien invasion hell Ken Johnson did it in the 80's with his Sci Fi mini Series called V where aliens invaded Earth for water and food . so no that story is nothing new .hell the reapers are a pathetic rip off  of the Borg from Star Trek with the almost same exact story . expect one thing the Borg put fear in people when they were first showned in ST NG . yeah Cerberus is being used the same way collectors and saren was used in 2 and it sucks . but hey what do you expect from a company who has no idea on what makes great sci fi work . Or no idea on why Star Wars and Star Trek are legends in sci fi and in pop culture

Show me any work of fiction that's completely original and has never been done before, and you might have a point.

Because, God forbid that anyone, even Star Wars and Star Trek, takes inspiration from other media or fiction, right?

By the way, the way Cerberus is used in the same way as the Collectors and Saren were, it's called being the antagonist. It doesn't make it suck. It just shows that Shepard and Cerberus have different viewpoints of what needs to be done, and they fight because of it.

Like most heroes and villains.

Omega4RelayResident - funny thing is, I absolutely agree. I think both sides should have negatives - and positives.

The Renegade could have been a hard as nails pragmatist. Sadly, it was sometimes misrepresented as a sociopath and a douchebag as well - aspects which should have had their own line or left out completely.

I would have loved to have the Renegade get Cerberus - Cerberus tech (those awesome robots) - and the Cerberus mindset splashed all over the ME universe. At the end of the story - humanity is on top - the Council is crushed or all human - and Cerberus replaces the Alliance (now crushed or crippled) as the leading mindset of the human race. Que Star Wars "Empire" theme.

====

Interestingly enough - I think that it's just going to be sour grapes from a whole section of the player base.

You see - those who were predominantly Renegade (or were the loudest about it) did not believe that Paragon choices should be allowed. I have not seen any level of grace - or co-existence - on the "Renegade" side of things. Of course - they'll say it has nothing to do with "Renegade" and "Paragon" and that it's just what "makes sense" vs. "morally self-righteous blah de blah".

Many pro-Cerberus people said there is absolutely NO room for two stories... no room for the diplomatic hero and the hard as nails bad ass to co-exist.

So, "IF" the game does not give us both Paragon and Renegade awesome-fest endings... perhaps Bioware took this to heart and made a choice.

"IF" this is the case - in the end, they got what they wanted - it did not turn out the way they expected.

But - I'm sure it affirmed their real life cynicism. Life is so unfair.

====

Still - here's to hoping we can all be appeased and have our world views re-affirmed through a video game.

*sigh* Great - now I have to search the BSN - maybe when I'm not tired after a long day at work Saphra. So for now - you can believe your claim due to my laziness (you'll believe your own crazy after I find evidence too - but that's another matter altogether).

Oh, and I have no cliffs nearby - so, could we say: "Jump in an icy lake?"

I wouldnt mind if the Renegades got to take over as leaders of Cerberus after the inevitable demise of TIM. Mass Effect = Burger King.... you get it your way.

There are sour grapes of course... do you have any IDEA how badly I got trolled when I tried to convince people of my theories being correct. All the Cerberus cheerleaders wanted to do the Polka on my spine. Am I a bit happy that the Cerberus fans got shafted after they behaved like "Renegades" (ironically appropriate and consistant) in the forums.
