The Collector base decision doesn't matter. The only consequences are different dialogue options when you meat TIM. Big deal.

Personally I kept the Collector base, because it's obviously the logical thing to do. Of course, blind idealist Paragons don't see that.

Keeping a massive station capable of creating hundreds of Reapers at once, and giving it to your enemies? I can't possibly see how that could come back to haunt you...

We didn't give it to our enemies. TIM was on our side at the time.

I do think that he did at the time want to stop the reapers and even in retribution but obviously something went wrong after that.  My reasoning at the time as to why I didn't hand him the base is I don't think he would have only used the tech against the reapers he would have used it against the other species in the galaxy.

The station is much larger than the single Reaper larva that you fought at the end of ME2. Chances are, that's not all dead space. If Sovereign is anything to go by as a general size, then that station could be rather efficient.

Just blind speculation on your part. If the human reaper would become as big as Sovereign, than it DOES make sense that they needed THE WHOLE STATION for just 1 reaper.

Epsilon330 wrote...

And your second point: It has already been confirmed that Cerberus has been indoctrinated by the Reapers. Have you seen the gameplay and making-of footage? It's all against Cerberus strike-teams.

In ME2 Cerberus isn't a villian but your partner. They're the only group that is actually helping you stopping the reapers in ME2.

When you played ME2 for the first time and had to make that decision about the base, you didn't know anything about ME3. Shepard doesn't know anything about ME3.

So your argument is invalid.

Not sure if you played DA:O/DA2. But it was said that some decisions matter more and some less. Then we learned in DA2 that none matter at all. So ... we are in the prerelease phase of the game in which employees won't say anything that may harm the sales.

Prerelease phase? This was tweeted on August 6th.

Well, ok. It's the same though. I would love it if it was true. But Bioware making a very important decision from a prequel being very imporant in the sequel is just nothing that ever happened before. So I doubt it.

If it turns out that way then they shall receive all due critcism - and it will be a lot of it. 'Til then, let's not go around posting conjecture like the word of God.

Damn missed it by that much.

I hope it atleast has a punishment in ME3.  I keep the base everytime because Its too late for us to change our technologicall path... I mean hello Legion, Reapers are already here so the least we can do is use better versions of the weapons we would use anyway.

I guess giving it to an inept, narcissistic and mysterious terrorist leader was not such a good idea in hindsight.

Oh well, this just further proves that these games are not about making logical decisions: it always boils down to whether you want to be a nice guy or a jerk. And I'm okay with that.

If you say 'let us' do you mean just me or also you? Because you posted this link like the word of god even though you actually have no clue if it's true or not. I'll believe it when I see it, no sooner.

Yes because all 30 plus hours of gameplay has been revealed right?  Oh wait I guess not all 30 plus hours of gameplay has been revealed.    Face it Nancy more people will love this game than hate it.  Oh and I will enjoy tearing Cerberus apart..

Most gameplay consists of linear popamole shooting galleries that have no plot.

This of course should be taken with a grain of salt, as should all info coming from their end. However, it is in no way a given that it won't matter. And frankly, I think it's rather dumb to conclusion to jump to, for the reasons why it is.

I'm actually beginning to get the gut feeling that the CB will be beneficial for all those that kept it intact. Cerberus may be against you in ME3, but there's a silver lining there in terms of the base tech, and more so for those who didn't blow it out.

Well the good thing about being pessimist is that you may be suprised in a good way.
