Yay, I'm in the minority.

Mostly because I see no reason to hold a grudge against Gears while Mass Effect exists.

ME 3 has no chance of being better than gears 3 . simple reason is the story of ME has been so messed up with all the different sub plots as well the main plot is screwed because Bioware had no real idea for Cerberus . at least in the Gears of War games there is a over arching story between the 3 games now it may not be the best story but it is connected with in the 3 games .

Oh no that would be the pathetic borg rip off called the reapers . Cerberus as the enemy is nothing but a mere butt kiss job done by Bioware for all the crying from ME 2 by paragons and alliance fans .

Pidgeon holing any game into a class of games does the very idea of creativity a disservice. Every game is an experience, and classifying that experience serves only to give some rationale to similarities when purchasing them or belittiling them because it does not meet your preconcieved notions.

ME1 environments were reused, ME2 levels were linear. Define "explore."

It also comes down to marketing. Both games are targeted at similar audiences. Bascially, if you like A, you will probably also like B unless you're a fanboy/girl.

ME 3 is a tps game with rpg elements . Mass Effect games will always be compared to Gears games because its a 3rd person shooter . Its sad how many on here want to cover up the truth about ME

Honestly, it won't take much for me to prefer ME3 over GoW3. I'm simply not interested in Gears. I've tried to get into it. In ME's case, I like the RPG leveling system added on top of the cover based shooting mechanics, I like the dialogue, the setting, the story. So long as Mass Effect is an interactive experience, I will always prefer it to Gears.

Don't get me wrong, I covered that in the first part of my argument (or so I thought).  It has its place, but people who rigidly ride in the lines never find the cool off-road trails.

while I dislike Bioware's story for 3 . I will kill wo ever is in my way to saving Earth and Miranda as well The Krogans in ME 3 as well finding out the so called mystery of why Cerberus is after Shepard . Those 4 things is all is the reason I am playing 3 at all.
