Have they actually confirmed they got the idea from you?
Because as a game developer and creative myself, you'd be surprised at the sheer number of times parallel ideas come up. Basically someone else coming up with something that you've already through of, completely on their own.
This is due to the fact that we're never thinking of ideas completely "on our own" and instead we've all got human brains (except when indoctrinated

) and we all are wanting and looking for the same things on a subconscious level, especially when it comes to the same mass media consumed.
Your post is dated Apr 2011, that's long after the development for ME3 was underway, and likely they were testing and fine tuning new powers long before that. The concept of sacrificing protection for some offensive effect isn't new in games, nor in mass effect since the Sentinel class' special shield delivered a similar blast save when it depleted. Albiet, it wasn't as damaging and couldn't be done voluntarily, but it's a similar concept.
