Good thing we're not shipping tomorrow then, isn't it? It's almost liek they aren't done yet.
New Bioware Pulse Episode with new combat powers (Vanguard) and weapons (Krogan shotgun) and more!

I doubt we'll get vehicle exploration - I'm not sure its really needed personally - but I too would like to see some armour customization. I'd be willing to bet that we'll get a Pulse episode on it at some point, likely next year.IsaacShep wrote...
Everything's looking great. But won't lie, wish we could see something else other than combat all the time. Like armor customization, presentation of in-economy/stores and/or vehicle exploration...
I don't mind seeing the combat however - behind story/dialogue/writing stuff, combat is the most important part imo. Its what makes it a game, and gives it the necessary challenge to stop it being a string of interactive cutscenes separated by walking. I haven't read the script, but based off ME1 and ME2, and Bioware's history, they've already nailed the story and character stuff. Combat is really the only thing that still needs considerable improvement and so its ncie to see it coming along. The RPG stuff is an added bonus to me - I'd love to be able to customize my armour and weapons, but it isn't a deal breaker for me.

I'd like to add a note on the adept's grab shield ability. The hand animation makes it look like he is throwing or projecting at the shield, which looks sort of visually weird or contradictory to the shield being pulled away. I would like to see this hand animation look more like a pulling motion than a throwing motion.
It's because Shepard is throwing a pull. That is the standard animation for biotic powers, no need to change it.

Great news. I'm still rather terrified of the teammates's running animation which we saw in the squad leader trailer.Chris Priestly wrote...

The beta health bar was way too big. This one is much more elegant, but it is not divided like its prior, which might indicate at returning to the old health regen system.eximo wrote...
what happened with healt bar - it is different than Beta leak's version... it was better in beta demo

The last BWP episode had those health bars, though.
I liked it too. Didn't make the medi-gel so redundant.

What we see here, in this new ME3 vid, is just ME2's health/shield system all over again. I really liked the way it looked in the Beta (although the indicator bars could've been lowered a bit). Plus, it was cool that your health wouldn't automatically get back to 100% after you took some hits with no shielding - gave Medi-gel more of a purpose.

I never did like Vanguard but that Nova power makes me want to play it. However Adept is still the best
I wonder what the infiltrator melee looks like hmmm

The Vanguard Nova skill is a nice biotic power and the Engineer really needed some upgrades.
Really good pulse episode, glad to see silverman back in action as well.
Keep up the good work bioware!

But seriously, one thing, does anyone miss the blue smoke/eezo clouds that used to cover Shep when he/she used a biotic ability? I mean, theyre still there, but theyre not as fancy or long lasting as the other two games. It makes the powers look less..powerful.
Its just like a quick poof of blue and then its gone, whereas in ME1 and ME2 it was brighter, bigger and lastest for more than half a second.
maybe thats just me.

And I love that they redid the health bar. It looks way better and it's lower on the screen and more out of the way.
Great job Bioware!

Nova has no cooldown. So nova, charge, nova, fire, charge, and so on. Excellent.
For now. They may give it one once they start balancing the powers.

I think the "healthbar" in this episode was just gone because the version was running in devbuild godmode or something.

On another note, I hope nova is a damage power (like warp) and not a "physics" power (like throw), or it's going to be just as useless on higher difficulties as shockwave was in ME2.

No, it was there, it was just an ME2 style one that showed up after the shields/barriers fell. That might not be the current one though, since this Pulse episode was delayed by a few months, presumably by all the leaks.LGTX wrote...

And then you can Charge back towards the big group and do it all over. Mixing in a few shotgun blasts with inferno ammo, maybe a couple of heavy melee's?

Pah! No one? Oh well, I'm glad they take inspiration from it!
