Ah, it's good to be a vanguard today. New shotgun looks beast, almost completely overshadowed by Nova's awesomeness, which for me is even more overshadowed by the flashlights

Flashlights.

Yeah, good video.

The Pull ability doesn't look quite right. The animation should look like Shepard's hand is actually pulling the shield away from the enemy rather than firing a projectile that knocks it out. I hope Bioware fixes this. Nova on the other hand looks awesome.

Where is my non-regen health bar? I want it back, nao.

Besides that, everything was awesome.

They've compromised. It's actually going to be 5 mini bars of health, regen only to the nearest full bar.

Ex: If you lost your shields and enemies shoot you down to 2 1/2 bars of health - it will recover to the 3rd bar. It's a compromise. I think it's genius.

Didn't you use health mod in ME1? Or were you a soldier? Health was always regenerating. I'm thinking this new system will be amazing.

That is how the Pull animation looks anyway.. suppose technically all the arm movement is just a like.. kinetic trigger for the the biotic power that is produced by the mental activity anyway

I like the sound of more varied weapons like that shotgun, and though I never play Vanguard Nova looks cool.. just have to wonder if the physics effects of biotics in ME3 are going to be as limited as they were in ME2 on higher difficulties.. just so I know what to expect

Some class videos for Christmas would be lovely

Nova is sweet :) I wonder what branches of development (alt. choices at stage 4, 5 and 6) will it have.

I do as well, at first when I saw the leaked demo I was on the fence, but it has grown on me.

I really like it. It reminds me of Far Cry 2's system, and it means Medi-Gel will probably have more of a role.

I said earlier that if the engineer gets a decent turret that I'll be changing my first Shepard to engineer for ME3... I guess I'll have to follow my promise! I'll admit the player's turret looks awfully puny compared to the cerberus turrets, but I suppose that being able to toss them like a grenade and that near-instant deploying certainly is a big advantage.

Also, if the old screenshots are still accurate, the Engineer gets their drone too? Turret + Drone together certainly has a lot of potential! The concept of the engineer always interested me, but I never actually got around to play one: The skill list always looked so utterly mediocre compared to the Sentinel which had most of the engineer best skills, lower recharge time, higher power damage, twice the shield (!) and ability to easily deal with all 3 defense types (instead of just two). The turret (especially if pairable with a drone) does a whole lot of good for the engineer's value.

I can't say I like the Krogan shotgun much, though. For me, the shotgun is the weapon of choice to take out enemies at point blank and get rid of them extremely fast. "Precision" and "Overtime damage" really doesn't fit with my description of a shotgun: Pistols, SGM and Assault Rifles all serves that purpose well. Beside, you can't afford to "wait and bleed out" a target that's point blank to you. So unless the shotgun is both absolutely deadly at close range (which didn't feel that way at all in the video) and still precise at long range, I really don't see a point for it. A "bleeding handgun" I could see the use for, however.

@AyraWinla - I completely agree with you about the new Krogun shotgun, because I don't know about them, but after a Charge I usually don't want to wait for the guy to 'bleed out' and then die since its a great recipe for being dead. Maybe if you're an Adept or something that'll be a good weapon, but I can't really see its use by a Vanguard otherwise.
If I want accurate and deadly at medium range I have the Eviserator, for close-up and personal that's what the Claymore is for.

Really hoping Nova has an evolution that increases the AoE and suspends enemies in the air for a few seconds...

The krogan really ought to design a shotgun that carries more than one round at a time though. I like the increased range on that new model but I'll stick with my Eviscerator.

Would have liked to have seen the Vanguard's heavy melee in action, but the Adept
version looks badass in its own right.

That long range accurate shotgun is probably not meant for Vanguards, who want shotguns that do a lot of close in damage.

Instead, it's to give other classes a reason to take a shotgun as one of their load out slots. There's probably some other use to it as well, perhaps the bleed out damage does health damage before getting through armor to organics.

Also, a game that used the partially regenerating health bar was Resistance 1, and there were problems with method in that game since it meant you could be screwed with just small bar left at the start of a battle, unable to find a health kit to progress.

That said, being able to carry medi-gel with you alleviates this problem somewhat, but it would be helpful if they made the last bar much larger than the other health bars to prevent this situation.

Has anyone seen combat video revealing whether or not Shepard can switch the view angle from his right side to left side? This is pretty common on other TPS in situations wherein you are trying to look down a hall from the non-standard over the right shoulder view angle. You guys may know TPSs that do this for example purposes (I don't recall that ME2 had this feature, but its been awhile).

The Uncharted games have done this, and while I don't really have a problem with how it is now (you're pretty much stuck with the left side), I can see why people want to change it.

Hell, I changed it often in Uncharted just to get a better angle of the enemy.

The same thought occurred to me, but we don't know how things work in combo yet.

One possible example: Heavy Charge, then Bleeding Shotgun the guy as he flies through the air. While he's flying, landing, and getting up, he's bleeding to death the whole time. He may be dead by the time he's up.

Another example: Charge+Bleed mook A, then Bleed+Nova mook B. Both mooks are down and bleeding. You take cover.

There may be other combos that make this shotgun work. We'll have to wait for more info.

(afterthought:)
Also, this shotgun is accurate at range, so maybe it's just meant for a less aggressive (more shooting from cover) style of Vanguard.

Well one possible combo that could be pretty devastating with this new shotgun is the combined/boosted d.o.t damage when using inferno ammo.

I have a feeling this krogan shotgun is more for the less in your face vanguard. What I'd like to do is toss my enemies up with a charge and a Nova and take down several of them before they even hit the ground. That means a more instant damage shotgun would be preferable.

Combat is looking very good. Adept melee is awesome. It reminds me Aard in The Witcher or the force push of Star Wars. The animations are no doubt fast due to gameplay, but they almost seem too abbreviated/fast. No matter. Gameplay comes first.

Ugh, so much gameplay. It seriously feels like gameplay is all we've been getting since E3. :(

That said, the gameplay does look cool. I'm just excited to learn about the characters and story some more. =X

Why were the cerberus troopers just charging you? At least one of the guardians dove for cover when he lost his shield.

Also, the Adept melee knocked my socks off. Glad to see it's not just a reskin of the omniblade.

For someone reason, the white stage looks very nice. Gives you an Assassin's Creed kind of feel.
