My Kinky Cousland Character - Taryn

Dear Author,

I am totally stoked you want to use me in a story alongside that bodacious elf of a sex god – Zevran. The minute I met him, I was like “OMG he is so awesomely gorgeous - I want to keep him!” y’ know; I mean like who wouldn’t right?

I am worried I am going to have to marry that Alistair dude; boring! Every time I flirt with him he turns red and runs away – totally not my thing okay, but you know family honour and all that BS; I promised my dad I would restore the Cousland name. It was an emotional moment okay; he was like dying all over the place and I like wanted him to make him happy. Then like I found out, Alistair is in line for the throne, I was like “no-way”, but it’s true. I could so totally dig being Queen y’ know.

There is only one thing I like more than sex and that’s, lots of sex, okay. So you better be sure to give me lots with Zevran and others, but I don’t do girls, FYI…. Leliana is kinda cute though, so maybe I will think about it.

I’m up for whatever – the kinkier the better – I like to have fun. So you totally have to find ways to pass the time during this bogus Blight thing.

Okay, let’s talk about me. You probably want to know where I learned my gnarly sex skills; yep well I was a Chantry girl.

I was a handful as a child, so I’m told, and I was sent to the Chantry to be raised by the strict chicks in the long dresses and the bogus way of talking. It wasn’t too gay y’know, because they also have Templar dudes; these bodacious buff guys in armour, and they are all: young right? and really randy right? and I would like, totally catch them scoping me out; I’m pretty hot looking okay, so like if they’re into chicks - they totally want me. I realised really quickly that a guy is totally in your power when you turn him on, OMG what a head rush right? I so totally get off, when I like look into their eyes and they are all like, not there anymore because all the blood has gone from their brain to, like their ****, I totally love that.

Okay, so I told you I like sex, and I’m totally rockin with looks right and I can get guys to do nearly anything I want.

But y’ know, just because I’m pretty, doesn’t mean I’m dumb okay.  I am really good at everything, and people who say I’m dumb are just totally jealous that I can get their boyfriends and stuff. Being dumb is just part of my act okay, and the whole helpless thing, yea, because guys totally like to feel superior and want to be all manly and rescue you. I don’t need to act smart because I’m pretty and I’m rich. So yea, who cares right?

That’s totally all there is to know.

Call me okay,

Taryn Elise Cousland Image IPB

I love the banner and the prompts. This is a lot of fun.

So...here goes...

Dear Author,

I wanted to take the time to personally thank you for telling my tale to the world. No…really…thank you. I mean I really like how you show the love Leliana and I share especially during that rough time during the Blight. And I never knew that Morrigan had a crush on me. Now that I think about it…a nice three…OW! I guess Leli didn’t like that idea. Anyway…did you have to keep telling about Wynne losing her clothes? It was bad enough I had to SEE that happen, but to read about it just brought back those…I think I’m going to be sick.
Where was I? Oh, yeah…about those tough times in Denerim…and those times I cried on Leli’s shoulder…did you have to tell EVERYONE about those? It’s not that I don’t mind reading them, but it does kind of lower my ‘guy’ factor a bit…guys don’t cry, remember? I’m supposed to be this tough hero so…you know…maybe embellish a little? And while you’re at it make me smile a little more? I mean it was bad enough Alistair’s first girlfriend was scared of me…I smile…I really do! I’m not grouchy looking all of the time…so just a smile now and then…so the women aren’t all afraid of me…ok? Oh…and while Leli’s out of the room…about that three-way with her and Morrigan…OW! She has really really good hearing…and a good throwing arm.

Sincerely,
Dan Cousland, Hero of Ferelden, Warden Commander of Vigil’s Keep, and Teyrn of Gwaren.

P.S. I have also been informed that if Leliana does see any mention of a three-way with me, her, and Morrigan that I can kiss my manhood goodbye…so please…remember her warning in your future writings.

Lol, these are all great! I can't stop grinning. Seems are characters are all cheeky brats, aren't they?
EDIT: Tryynity - do we have some rules for the prompts?

Here's my non-entry:

My dearest Lucia,

I understand why you decided to write a story about me. Who better than a dashing and ridiculously awesome assassin, known for his prowess all accross Theadas, yes? I was surprised to find out that you are surprised by its success. It is about me, so it could not fail.

I do, however, have a few objections. You may want to consider them carefully. It would bring me  your story about me even more admirers.

For example, the point of view. I am born to be admired and ravished by the Warden, not the other way round.  Surely even you must realize such simple fact, yes? And do you really think it is such a good idea to reveal my thoughts to everyone? I am an assassin, after all. I suggest changing it to Airam's point of view. That way I would finally know for sure how he feels about me we could probably skip right to some action.

In fact, any kind of action would be more than welcome. I am sure more readers would like to see me covered in sweat, passionate an determined to pleasure protect my little Warden. Much more than to read about my thoughts and emotions. It is the basic rule, no? Show, not tell? Do that and we will all be much happier. Of that I'm certain.

It would be also good to keep things realistic. It pains me to say that, but some of your stories are ridiculous. Like the story about my children.I might be the best lover in Antiva, but I believe thirty seven children is bit too much. It seems as if I never did anything else. I did have a job, if I may remind you. And a rather difficult one for that. Or the story about that gross trick on Fade Night (I think you call it Halloween in your world, yes?) I assure you that I did not faint. Those are all slanders and lies! I strongly recommend to rewrite it.

I also have a favour to ask. I would like to send special Crow regards to people who told you it is good to hurt your characters. Could you please send me their names? Especially the one who came with the idea of  a nightmare whre I give my Airam to Templars. Nicknames are also fine, do not worry about that. I am sure I will be able to track them down.

In future, do not listen to such stupid advices. It is dangerous. I would hate if something bad happened to you. Which reminds me. I heard that you intend to force Air to make an ultimate sacrifice. Allow me to say this - it would be very unwise. Trust me, it would hurt you. So much, in fact, that it could kill you. Such tragedy would that be! Better avoid that, no?

Well then. I think it is all for now. Allow me to say again that I know why you wish to write about me and that I'm not against it. Just follow my advices and you'll be fine.

Your beloved assassin,

Zevran Arainai

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear, um, whoever:

So, like, I heard that there's this place in like the sky (fine, the cloud, whatever) where you, like, tell totally gnarly keen stories about my totally gnarly keen adventures. I just wanted to, like, make sure you knew exactly what to, like, talk about, y'know?

So, like, first of all, make sure you talk about my awesomely bodacious bod.  I mean, like, you know, the perfect figure, the luscious lips, the blue eyes and scrumptious blonde hair.  Oh, yeah, and my fab ass.  I mean, you may as well start with the best part first.

Oh, yeah, and, like, make sure that my fingernails are, like, flawless and that, like, anyone who touches them is, like, a gnarly charlie who, like, totally gets what they deserve!  Oh, and the rank skanks?  Yeah, like, the Cousland of Retribution will, like, totally knock them off their ass too!

Um, so, like, what else?  Oh, yeah, and make sure to mention the Assassion of Passion and the Prince of Hotness.  Especially the part where I [details redacted for BSN] and then [details really redacted for BSN].  I mean, I don't want them to, like, think that my mouth is a total klutz, ya know?  Only when it comes to words.  When it comes to [redacted] I can, like, totally make sure the [redacted] is [redacted] all the way to, like, the base of my [redacted].

Now for, like, the really important stuff.  Like, make absolutely sure you don't mention the totally bogus stuff that happened to my family, ya know, before the Dour Glower, like, took me to Ostagar. I mean, that would be a total downer, ya know, to, like, tell them about all that icky stuff, especially, like, poor Dairren cut down with his [redacted] still ready for action.  I mean, that would be, like, tragic to bring up, ya know?

Oh, and, like, don't talk about when Mom and Dad... when they... well, like, just, don't bring it up, y'know?

Oh, and that whole time when I cried?  Remember, it, like, didn't happen!  I don't cry, y'know?  Especially not because I think that a totally decent guy might, y'know, want more than the whole horizontal mamba.

Or is that mambo?  I can, like, never remember, y'know?

Anyway, just wanted to, like, send you a gnarly little note, so here it is!

Like, totally gnarly hot & sexy,
Dailana Cousland

P.S.  Oh, and, like make sure you mention my pwecious widdle puppy!  Yes, you are a pwecious widdle puppy, yes you are!  *mwah*

More gr8 letters.

@ Klidi - No rules - just post whatever. It is just an excercise. I notice everyone has chosen the letter. Im wondering if they thought that was the prompt? Were you thinking of choosing a winner?

The prompt was choose any of those exercises. I went with letter because it seemed the easiest to me.

Maybe we can do a different one then for next time - depending if everyone continues to choose DEAR AUTHOR.

DEAR AUTHOR: Your character writes you (the author) a letter, instructing you quite specifically in how s/he wants to be portrayed in the book. Make your character's personality come through loud and clear in this letter. Try to set yourself aside as you write it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Scribe,

I have come to the understanding that you wish to document my life story. I am thrilled and highly honoured by this undertaking of yours.

As you have expressed to me already, you are aware of my special abilities. I realise also that once you make record of them in your account of my life, they will no longer be a secret and the thought of that at first concerned me greatly, but I have since come to the belief I have nothing to fear; I have mastered the art of keeping well hidden since being released from the tower, so you have my complete co-operation in this endeavour.

You may, or may not be aware, that I have yet to retain any of my memories prior to my arrival at the tower. I was told I was brought there by some Templars at a young age of about nine or ten; I simply woke up there one day. You would be doing me the greatest service, if you could help me with my quest to discover my past and the source of these unique gifts I am endowed with.  Perhaps together we will be able to accomplish this.

The day I came to discover that neither the Templars nor the simple stone walls of the Circle Tower could contain me was a frightening day for me; a weighty responsibility for a young lad knowing that complete mastery of all things around them was a matter of simple willpower. For this reason it is much more imperative that I remain pure and free from evil control. I would never have chosen voluntarily to leave the Tower; certain events thrust me from its relative sanctuary out into the unexplored world of Thedas, at the same time revealing to many witnesses my powers that up until that moment had remained a secret.

My first few years of freedom were a combination of adventure and trepidation, but it was a test that needed to be passed; if I was to be a master of my own fate.

I am a trifle embarrassed that you plan to reveal to so many, my youthful pursuits of physical pleasure; I don’t suppose you would consider skipping those parts?  At the very least, I hope your readers realize I was a young, extremely virile young man, and very much enjoyed the freedom from the restrictions of the tower in regards to ‘sowing my oats’. Since those days I have come to realise the value of having one true partner by your side, opposed to many random visitors to one’s bed.

I wish you all the best and look forward eagerly to working with you to a mutual benefit.

Yours most sincerely,

Anieran Surana

To the Author, from Finn Aldebrant, mage of the Ferelden Circle, greetings this holiday season.

I have read your last chronicle of our adventures and there are some issues I feel should be addressed prior to the release of any subsequent narration.

First, the parts with me casting spells in useful and appropriate fashions are good.  I am not a fool or dimwit, even if my practical field experience is less than that of my companions.  I am glad to see that this comes through.

Next, however, I would request that you not place quite so much emphasis on my 'little ways.'  Yes, I like things to be neat and clean.  Is this really a matter so remarkable and, indeed, apparently humorous, that it needs to be brought up at every turn?  I should think that it would bore your readers.  Certainly, Ariane and Vashti have expressed hopes that I will cease to go on about such things.  I think they can safely be omitted from the record.

But that is a small thing compared to the near-nudity and then the ridiculous jumpsuit.  "Trope inversion" is all well and good, but I suspect that one, most readers will miss it entirely, and two, it reads more for comic effect than as fan service.  I am quite aware that my cerebral tendencies and lack of angst or broodiness render me unsuitable as a lust object for the majority of the fandom.  I am not complaining, mind you, having seen what travails and oddities are inflicted upon those who are.  However, I respectfully request that if you would find certain details of our journeys too inappropriate or too undignified to mention with respect to Vashti or Ariane, you kindly grant me the same respect.

Similarly, please respect my privacy viz. Dagna and Merrill.  I don't make a habit of broadcasting my relationship status to the world at large, and I believe either lady would be terribly offended if they found our private moments displayed for any passer-by to read.  I will, by way of recompense, allow as the events in Amaranthine are pretty fair game.  Just again, so long as they are not related in a ridiculous fashion.  However, all things considered, I suppose ridiculously awesome may be appropriate.

Kirkwall was a dangerous and trying time.  Please treat it with the seriousness it deserves; while there were moments of humor here and there, none of us played the clown.  Myself most definitely included.

Dear Mr. Hotshot Writer;

Who the hell are you to write about me? I am epic. Great.  A Legend, and you are...? Shouldn't someone more... I don't know, refined, be writing about me? Well whatever I guess, at least I am being immortalized in ink now too. I can't take anymore ballads, if Leliana writes one more song....

So let's get a few things straight... after all you were not there so make sure you get your damn facts right!

Number One: I was a Dalish and deserve to be recognized as such. Don't you dare confuse me with one of those Shem loving "elves." They are beneath me, the only time I might of even recognized them was when I had to save their pathetic asses from slavers in the Denerim Alienage.

Number Two: Alistair was not in charge. Even though he was the Senior Warden of the two he didn't want to lead so I happily took charge. I was so relieved to not have to take orders from anyone anymore, I could do things my way and if they didn't like it... well obviously as my biographer you know what happened.

Number Three: Just because I earned the title "Hero of Ferelden" does not mean I was a goody two shoes. I did by no means go around helping people, Redcliffe should be proof enough of that. The non Blight ending things I did do were for personal gain, I could of cared less about helping everyone out. And speaking of the Hero title, please refer to me as this rather than "Warden Commander." Hero suits me better.

Number Four: Let's get Amaranthine set straight too. I hate all these rumors that I burned the city down as some sort of Dalish revenge on the Shems. While the idea makes me smile, I burned the place down because I was advised to do so. The city was lost and it was the easiest way to get rid of some Darkspawn.

Number Five: I could have care less about Loghain's stupid war. I only killed him because he dared to get in my way. And I only placed his daughter in charge because Alistair was very instant that he not be King. He was my friend and I respected his wish. That was it. And let's face it, he would have made a terrible King.

Number Six: Get my relationship with Morrigan right! Despite her and her mother playing with me, using me and so on, she did love me. And no that is not just my ego talking. Yes, she ran off with my kid, I think, not so sure about that part yet... and I know what it all looks like but she did love me!

Also I keep hearing about some situation up in Kirkwall with some Shem named after a bird or something. I bring this up for two reasons. One, because apparently this Shem is from some backwater little town the Darkspawn sacked. Do not piggyback their story to mine! I do not know this person nor do I care about them. Two, rumor has it the Dalish clan I belonged to is camped somewhere around there. Again, I have nothing to do with whatever they are up to. Our stories were one at one point then they split. I have nothing to do with them after they forced me to go with that Shem Duncan. Got it?

There is more I would like to say but Finn is annoying me about some Scrying Ritual at the moment. Can't he see I'm busy?!

- The Hero of Ferelden.

I got another letter, this time from Airam... Maker help Ferelden if this is the Commander of Grey... Image IPB

*******************

Dear Lucia,
Zev tells me he wrote you a letter with few suggestions how to improve the story about us and that he's sure you'll consider it. So I decided to add few as well, if you don't mind.

I don't know why you had to create me looking like a freak so different than all the others. White skin, purple eyes and dark violet hair? Really? Why didn't you just draw a target and pinned it on my back? Let me guess – purple is your favourite colour, isn't it? Not only it makes my life miserable, it's also considered poor writing – wish fulfilment, self-insert, etc. Maker forbid I would find out I'm a self insert of an older lady!

And I'm sure you noticed how good I looked how useful it was when I was masked in Denerim. Why don't you write me learning some spell that would change my appearance to something more manly?

Another thing. Please do not write about… intimate matters any more, all right? It's embarrassing and besides what kind of sick perverts you think your readers are? Nobody likes to read about other people being hysterical or about failed sex. Or about successful sex. That's something that should remain private… wait. All right, I'm back. Had to freeze cool down Zev a bit, he was peeking over my shoulder and blabbering a vulgar quote about codpiece from Rose of Orlais… wait. Had to calm down Alistair, too – he tried to peek over my shoulder, snickering and asking how did I know from where the quote was.

Where was I… aha. The intimate matters. No more sex and no more embarrassing scenes. That includes the silly nicknames Zev gives me. Just because I'm not of age yet, I'm not a kid? When he calls me 'a kid', 'the little Warden', 'boy', or 'the little leader', it ruins my image and authority. I am a Commander of Grey, not some adorable puppy-eyed kid!

And same goes for Anders. Would you please tell him to stop talking about my ears? Can't you make him fall for Oghren's beard instead? I'm sure that would be much more original and that your readers would love it!

I also heard you want me to sleep with Morrigan. I have only two words to that: FORGET IT. Not going to happen. I like Morrigan as a friend. But she and I... doing that… ugh. No. I'm warning you – I'll rather throw myself on Archdemon. I have no idea why would you want to write something like that, but you'll have to find some other fool to do it. Just thought I'd warn you so you won't be surprised later.

Need to go now. The freeze spells will stop Those two fools will melt down It will get noisy around here in a while, and I hate noise.

Please consider what I said. And please write faster.

Yours Sincerely,

Airam Surana

Commander of the Grey

Dear Airam,

I think your idea for Anders/Oghren is genius! It sounds like crack, I know, but the dynamic of the older, more experienced and gruff warrior looking out for his Sparklefingers could be all kinds of UST and awesome. Except he'd need to sober up.

But then, that's just true in general. Poor Oghren. He's got about as tortured a backstory as they come, but so little fanfic to help him work it out.

Anyway, great idea!

Dear Corker,

of course it is genius idea. I am one of the most brilliant mages in Ferelden, after all. But my silly author refuses to accept it. Instead of listening to me, she keeps tormenting me with her lame ideas of humour. Tch.
Perhaps if you showed her it worked, she would be more willing to change it. So I would like to ask you if you would be so kind and write it? Pretty please? If you do, I'll provide you with the first-class ice cream for the whole year (you didn't taste a real ice cream if it wasn't made by an ice mage, trust me!)
Deal?

Yours Sincerely,

Airam Surana

Madam,

You are a fine writer, but I fear the potential of your craft has not been realised. The truth of these stories are whatever you decide to make them. What you write is what your readers will believe happens. Authors and historians over the ages have mastered falsehood, yet you decide to tell it how it is from Zevran's eyes, or Shianni's, or Shayle's. And there are enough prejudices between my companions to ensure they never realise the full truth even if it stared them in the face, but this is about you, not them, and your writing, not their shallow perceptions.

As I see it, you have a power you choose not to use. You could tell this story in many ways and end it like a fairytale. Zevran gets however many girls he wants and returns home a hero, Shianni rises above her abuse by killing the villainous Vaughan, I return to the Grey Warden fold as Zevran's bosom companion having proven what a nice chap I am deep down, someone gets married, Fade spirits sing happy songs, the Chant of Light echoes from all four corners of Thedas, and we close on a tear-inducing image of the whole extended Cousland family rapturing to the Golden City.

'What really happens' is precisely what you write. Our reality is fiction, and yours to bend. All these plans you have for our futures are ephemeral, and our characters shadow puppets. What is truth in a fantasy story but creative lies, anyway?

So exercise that talent of yours. Lie. Play it subtle and see if your readers notice. It'll be fun.

And as far as anyone else will know, we'll all live happily ever after.

Yours truly,

X

These letters are great - keep them coming.

@Sold does X = Asleena ?

I am curious why she wants you to make stuff up?

@ Klidi - I have always wanted to know - why purple hair? Airam posed the question and so I wish to ask it too.
Dont get me wrong - I can totally believe elves to have purple, pink, green or blue - it makes them more fantasy fiction.

The current trend which I am hating is to make elves look like freaks from some sci-fi/horror/fantasy realm. Its almost like the game developers have gone out of their way to make them "not look like Jackson's elves in LotRs"

Turbine started the trend with their plain elves in LOTRO and then Bioware followed suit in DA2 with some of the elves and OMG the worst yet are Skyrim's - first time ever I will not play an elf :(

Elves were ugly in Oblivion, too - I never played an elf until I downloaded some mods that improved them.

As for Air... well, he's right. :) When I started the game, and I saw it's possible to choose also unnatural colours for eyes and hair, I thought the elves in the game will look like that, too. I chose purple, because it is my favourite colour and also because the others fantastic colours looked too girlish on him. I gave him the pale skin because I liked the contrast. And then I played the game and found out they all looke rather... mundane, and that Air looks like a freak. Image IPB

But I guess that was the reason why I started to search for answers and reasons - e.g. why the guards don't recognize him in Denerim. So when I started to write the story about Zevran, which later turned to be the first chapter of FTF, Air was the most developed Warden, ready for use, so to say. :D

@Klidi, maybe some day. Unlikely, though, given that I'm weak with m/m in general and don't like Anders in particular, and that should really be done by someone who appreciates his snarky charms. :)

@SoLD, I keep reading that as "Please provide me with an alibi. I don't know what I'll need it for yet, but they're nice to have." XD
