I'm running into a problem and I'm just wondering if anyone can help.

Basically, I have some custom backgrounds set up that are independent of most races and classes.  Almost all of them are class-independent, the only major exception being the Apostate background.  However, I can't seem to find a way to stop Dwarves from selecting the Mage class the way things are set up.

The relevant section in the backgrounds.gda file looks like this:

Does anyone know how to get around this?  It seems to me that the only way to deny a class is to deny all of its potential backgrounds as well, which would mean Dwarves have fewer options than I'd like.  Looking at the original campaign, the separate "Dwarf Noble" and "Human Noble" backgrounds indicate, aside from flavour text, that this might be a technical limitation of the file structure or even the game engine, but I'd like to confirm that's the case before giving it up as a lost cause.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Im sure you already did this but Im just gonna ask: http://social.biowar...rounds_tutorial ,did you checked that all "1" 's and id string where correctly put in the background_defaults and _desc tables?
BTW, are you using custom models, if so, are your models appearing in the char creation screen?(I have this problem)

As far as I know, all my string IDs are correct. The only thing I can think of is that the game was never really set up to allow for classes to be entirely separate from backgrounds.

It's not a huge deal in the end, as the two backgrounds that are denied to Dwarves aren't really appropriate for them anyway, but I guess I just don't like customization being compromised that way.
