If you could BE Shepard instead of you, would you BE Shepard?

For so many reasons.

sure, it's a stressful job, but i'm/shep is up to the task.
Riiiiiiiiiighttttttttt.
You think you're up to the task without militairy training whatsoever? Or am I mistaken and are you actually a commando soldier in real-life? I highly doubt it.

Hey you brought it up. I withhold judgement on the usefulness of breast sizes.AdmiralCheez wrote...
@CrutchCricket: Small ****** are not a disadvantage. In fact, I'd say they're just as awesome as big ******. They're always cute (while big ****** can sometimes be gross and smelly), and they don't get in the way.

If that isn't enough, in ME3 I will be sacrificing innocent men, women, and children by the millions, good times! Plus, since people never change I will be dealing with the same narrow minded butt wipes that I had to deal with before the Reapers tried to kill everybody if I even manage to pull of the impossible and survive once again. So all things considered...no, I don't want to be Shepard in RL.
I realize that that position will be difficult to understand, but there you have it. In RL, there is emotional trauma involved with making those kinds of decisions on the scale that they will need to be made. That is why combat soldiers leave home and return changed. That is why police officers commit suicide at far higher rates than does the rest of the public, and that is why actually being Shepard is not what you believe it to be.

Maybe if I was hella brave and strong and could just start over when I died I would!
I think it would be cool, though, to live in the Mass Effect universe (especially since we all know Shep is going to save it). Where would you guys live if you were in that galaxy?

No, I wouldn't. I'm really not the "Marine" type. Not the kind of person to want to pick through the rubble with a gun, you know? Plus I wouldn't want all that responsibility or pressure. I don't envy Shepard at all. None of the crap he has to deal with is easy.
^^^^ Whoa. We agree on something.
Clemenceau once said. "In order to act, you must be somewhat insane. A reasonably sane person is satisfied with thinking."
Now if it were just bombing around the galaxy, visiting worlds, enjoying their local cultures, visiting art museums, and didn't involve any killing, reapers, responsibility, and allowed me to live as a hedonist, that would be another thing. It would also depend upon the viability of the Lazarus rebuild. And what happened to the 999999999 credits that Shepard had built up in ME1??? Or did the Alliance take it? If so they owe big money.
But this reaper crap, collectors, contract killing, making decisions that affect hundreds of thousands of people? Not my cup of tea.

I definitely would, if I wasn't already Dovahkiin.
Skyrim is cold, though. And I ran into the Thalmor Inquisition hauling a guy off for "questioning" about a Talos Cult. If he wouldn't give any information even if he didn't know, the were going to kill them. Lydia and I butchered those elf bastards. Skyrim for the Nords! Not that I had a choice in the matter. Got the two quests (Join: Stormcloaks/Legion) and was exploring in an area north of the college, and encountered an Ice Wraith, which fell to its death in a crevasse, without my even drawing a weapon. Stormcloak now.

1. You are constantly experiencing near-death situations
2. You actually DID die
3. The galaxy is about to end
