Epically massive thread necro on my part (Hope it ain't against the rules) on the flashlight thing.
First, why no helm-mounted light? Or suit (flood-lights). Also, NVG (also called NOD (Night Optical Devices)-wearing enemies VS a flashlight? No bueno. The NVGs would overload and the person would be blinded. Painfully. Even infrared can get painful to look at via NOD. Pure light (such as a 300+ (Tactical Weapon mounted, plus a few for the future) Krypton, Xenon, or even LED light) would be basically the ocular equivalent of a kick to the testicles.
The stunning wouldn't last long (probably long enough for the poor bastard to yank his NOD off or drop to the ground), but it would give those critical few seconds.
