Asari's form of reproduction with traditional reptilian birth

Wait, wat.

e_e

The melding of different species mixed with traditional reptilian birth (the hatching of eggs) I thought that could have worked well for the Drells. It would make them monogendered, but still give them a plausible reason for sexual interaction. It also makes sense for there to be more than one monogendered species in the entirety of the galaxy, since its a constant in nature for their to be only so many patterns of behavior before we see them repeat themselsves in more than one organism.

If its you, it's OK type S/S romances can be very well done and heartwrenching but are tricky to pull off. I hope BW manage to do so.

And if someone in real life straight up told you "I'm not into the girl's club" what would you take away from that?

That she didn't want to sit around in some tragic little socio-norm distaff version of "the boy's club"; talking about who did what with whom last week at the office party, the latest Twilight movie, and men as opposed to who's screwing who, football and chicks ;)

Just put it in Normandy context - you can see maybe Kasumi, Kelly, Tali, hell, even Miranda once she defrosts a little, sitting around and doing exactly that; fitting into the cosy interactions of a single-sex group dynamic (be it as pithy, stereotypical and heteronormative as my sarcastic example above or not). And Femme-Shep, from Jack's viewpoint potentially being another member of the little circle trying to pull her in and make her into someone she isn't, is rebuffed for being perceived as someone trying to maybe change who Jack is. Jack is not really a group person. She trusts number one and only number one. Whether you read her as bi, straight, whatever, you can't deny that she doesn't integrate. She sits under the stairs for a reason. And because of that, I can't see any sexuality-driven connotation in that line at all.

Each to their own though. I don't like getting involved in this kind of crap anymore here.

Hmm. I see you hate the boys club even more than I do. So you don't want to get involved in this crap anymore? That's a copout.

Yes, I see what you're saying.

Well, that's something.  I'll consider my point made and sign out, then.

Well, given the mixed opinions on the topic, it'd say it's pretty clear that it's not clear.

It's quite clear once the wishfull thinking is removed.

If we were actually going to take your word as gospel truth, maybe.

Think about this for a minute -- I lean towards calling it "pandering" when a formerly straight-only character is made bi-available, and even I think that it's reasonable for Jack.

Personally, I don't care what's up with Jack, one way or the other.  I thought she had a line about some bi-experimentation that she'd done, but I wouldn't swear on it.   There's nothing about the "girl's club" line or its context that makes it clearly a comment on Jack's sexuality.  But then, I don't care if she's straight or bi, and I could see her being bi before many of the other characters.

Agree. But we've gotten very off track. There should be some sort of option for a Gay male or female Shepard. Since the concept of the series was set to be a universe with variable surrounding the main protagonist, a gay commander should have been considered, especially when there's an entire race of bisexual women in this series. It's just even more odd that there's no option considering DA's universe solves this problem rather simply.

There was lesbian Shepard in ME franchise since day 1, albeit with much less options than her straight and male counterparts. It was the gay male Shepard that was suspiciously missing.

I don´t know if I´d take Liara as an example that makes Femshep lesbian. I´d rather call her a girl with an alien fetish. Liara is very neutral for me. Femshep can´t romance Ash just as Mshep wouldn´t be able to romance Kaidan if Liara was designed as a male. So how exactly is that more options for Femshep? The only reason Liara has boobs in this game is that majority of players are guys and even most of the straight guys do enjoy having two girls making out. That combined with a comment from one of the devs saying once, that they always wanted a blue hot alien chick in the series is Liara for you ;)

I think everyone should be able to romance whoever they want. F/M, S/S, alien mix, I don´t care as long as it´s written tastefully which in my opinion Bioware managed to do so far in most of the cases. We are all different and ther´s just no way in hell we ever gonna agree on whats cool and what´s uncool. This is not a dating game. Romance plays only one of the small parts here, a nice addition for some, complete disaster for others.
I don´t think Shep gets screwed here. He/She has a choice after all. If you only had one romance option in the entire game with no variation in race or sexual orientation, that´s what I would call screwed! :pinched:

Mmmm...pandering.

I love it as long as it's directed at me!
