I have no idea what will happen with Miranda in ME3, I hope positive i.e. long lasting relationship (could be marriage) and never know could have children (will have to wait and see on that one)

I think the same can be said for virtually all of the human (plus liara) because they all can have children (from what I know), i cannot see Jack having kids and marriage anytime soon however, depends on how much she has changed since ME2.

Tali, Garrus, Thane and any other characters that are being added as romance options I think the marriage equilevants for them is probable maybe not with Thane how ever i imagine him being the type that you only marry once kind of person.

I don't think the "romances" are meh, I think they're hilariously bad in 90% of cases. It amazes me that this sub-forum exists.

Not only that but they're only a tiny percentage of gametime in any given playthrough. It's just a handful of brief shallow conversations and a 1-2 minute dry humping scene. It makes the fixation a lot of these fans have on these "romances" all the more hilarious.

Liara basically hits on you because you were touched by a beacon... Plus it doesnt take much effort. However LOTB was pretty good for reconciling the romance

Jack... In my honest opinion Jack NEEDS A FRIEND!!! Not a boyfriend... She needs a loyal friend. She shouldnt be in a relationship in my opinion.

Agreed.  Not being able to get any dialogue really due to not romancing any of the romancable characters was really horrible.

As far as communicating throughout the romances, I thought Thanes, Ashley's and Kaidans came off as the most believable.

Haven't done them, so I can't comment.

The thing about ALL the romances is that after a certain point, if you didn't romance a character, they all stopped talking to you. It's not any one character in particular.

Personally I don't care about romances, as long as I can Romance Tali as FemShep in ME3 then my life is complete, wait I just contradicted myself, oh well.

If you break it down: Romance in ME is just 10-15 lines of dialogue and an eventual sex scene. I know ME isn't reality, but seriously, only a prostitute would be willing to sleep with you so quickly.

You should hop over to the Tali thread now and then. Every few weeks or so they'd be talking passionately about how they...err I mean their Shepards could possibly impregnate that buckethead. Methods, pillowtalk etc.

I can only hope that they show at least half that passion towards working for a living.

None of the Mass Effect romances are really good. I like Miranda's and Ashley's character enough to overlook the shortcomings of their romances.

The Dragon Age team is much better in the romance department. Origins and 2 both have superior romances to Mass Effect imo.

I don't think the ME romances are all that bad( I prefer the ME ones to the ME2 ones) but I agree with you that the DAO and DA2 ones are better.

Another thing against the sh!tty romances is that they have absolutely nothing to do with the story.  Speaking of Tali, you'd think that there would be some interesting socio-political drama about a Quarian admiral's daughter and folk hero getting romantically involved with a human starship captain(ESPECIALLY if he's Renegade and/or Pro-Cerberus) but nope, it's just pure uninspired fan service.

The only romance worth a damn when it comes down to story, dialogue, and natural progression is Ash for MShep and Kaidan for FShep. Of course Mac Walters will get pissed when he reads this and he'll add bonus dialogue for Liara proving me wrong...
