Usually its my rule to never buy dlc, because its always overly expensive for what you get, but I've heard that the da2 dlc actually adds to the story, instead of being insignificant side crap like for mot games.

Is it worth the money for the content and the LENGTH of the content?

I would say it was worth it.
But then I also think that Warden's Keep and the other Origins' main campaign DLC was really good too...... Which is a sentiment that I've noticed to be not universally shared.

Especially look at Legacy. It's (in my opinion) the best DLC addon in either of the two games. And I was very disappointed in DA2 as a whole.

In my opinion Legacy is excellent. Mark of the Assassin is almost excellent.

I too think that Legacy is best, but what are you looking for in a dlc?
Legacy:
- Interesting travel into the deep road.
- Wave combat is hidden better, and other combats mechanic explored (such as shield using genlocks)
- Info on Hawke's family history.
- Involvment of the surviving sibling
- Secret boss fight.
- dark mood

MotA:
- Puzzle section and stealth section, both optional
- More dialog than legacy
- Orlesian culture and a little more Qunari culture.
- Genrally are dlc with a lighter mood.

I heard legacy was incredibly short. 1-2 hours hardly justifies a $10 pricetag

It depends really on what kind of player you are.

I can be as short as 2 hours, or as long as 5, tops. Regardless, the content inside of it is really, really good.

Same with MOTA. One thing Bioware does well is DLC so far, other then a few items in Origins (Golems of Argommek and Darkspawn Chronicles) most of their stuff has no fat to them, as it were. They are lean, story-telling bits that really flesh out the world and the games a bit.

Both DLC are better than the base game, and personally think they are both well worth the time and money. There are some interesting things in Legacy, and I think that is the slightly better DLC, but then again, MoTA tries for a slightly different feel, so it may be personal preference. Since Legacy was the first story DLC released and it was the first to show the improvements asked for by players, it may just be the contrast between DA2 base and Legacy that makes it seem better. There are some nice puzzles in both, as well as info on different things as stated above. I would definitely buy both again, and consider it money well spent.

Took me much longer. Length is subjective, if you power to the end then yes it will take 1-2 hours. If you do side quests, puzzles, all conversation options, hard mode etc it will take longer.

Took me about 6 hours and I only did half of what I listed above.

Legacy and MotA are really well done, not to mention I like how things fit seemlessly into the Acts you're playing. I will say randomly playing DLC AFTER you complete a game is probably nowhere near as immersive as playing it DURING a playthrough.

Legacy was excellent - MoTa turned into a grave disappointment halfway through.

Playing on nightmare, exploring every nook and cranny, reading every codex entry and fighting and beating the secret boss took me 22 hours.

Legacy and MotA are 100% worth it. Much better than the vast majority of DA2.

I don't know about Legacy, but MotA was great. The price could be lower though for 3-4 hours of gameplay.

I agree 100%. (I still haven't gotten Legacy either so can't comment on it.)  MotA was a great addition and was just a lot of fun to play.  Had a much lighter mood to it than the main story line but I personally found it very enjoyable.  I actually played it through back-to-back with first two completed campaigns I liked it so much.  And I suppose $10 is a little higher than I would like but that seems to be the case with every dlc Ive bought (mostly Im comparing to the ME2 dlc).

You'd be incredibly hard pressed to finish Legacy in an hour or so. My two playthroughs personally took around four hours. Likewise for MoTA, and I thoroughly enjoyed both.

For $10, that seems entirely reasonable to me. Perhaps not in terms of 'hours per dollar' (or, well, pound in my case, but anyway) when compared to DA2 itself, but I don't really rate things that way. I'd rather have a high quality enjoyable four hours than an average ten.

I did like MotA, but Legacy I liked a lot better. Admittedly it's relatively short but it was actually cool. Mind you, I just got it yesterday, but it gives a lot of insight in a lot more than just the Hawke family.
All in all it really adds to the overall storyline. DA3 should be quite the storyline.

But yeah Legacy was cool and somehow refreshing because it was different.

If you are looking for more party interaction then no for mota. It is a separate Kasumi stolen memory rip off. Legacy has some discussion concerning the main story but less than I wanted to. Both are ok if lenght is a measurement.

Oh, I was wondering how long it would take for the "zomg MotA is just a Stolen Memory rip off" thing to rear its painfully misguided head.

If you liked DA2, you'll probably like both Legacy and Mark of the Assassin. They took what was in DA2, and polished it further. They're both self-contained stories though; you won't see much effect on the core game at all aside from carrying in some pretty nice DLC loots. If you don't like certain core aspects of DA2 (voiced protagonist, dialogue wheel, predetermined critical plot path, dramatic irony, etc.) you'll probably be disappointed.

Generally, Legacy and MotA iron out some of the issues with encounter design and do a better job of maintaining verisimilitude. They're fun if you liked the better parts of DA2.

Legacy was awesome and let you get back with your sib for a bit and you met Hawkes Da and Anders had a misadventure and you meet an original contaminate the golden city magister I LOVE it!
