Hey all.

 I'm pretty certain I already know the answer to this, but I pretty much ignored Qara for Act I. I had the first two encounters involving her, but didn't think to talk to her after the second and never adventured with her. So I haven't gotten to the third encounter - the one wherein the Academy headmaster intervenes.

  A bit into Act II I realized I hadn't seen any of the cutscenes involving her subplot, and so I've spent a little bit of time trying to get that third encounter to trigger, but it has not and I doubt it will.

 But, I just thought I'd come here to confirm it. So, will subplots (or at least Qara's) only advance in Act I?

Is Act II is where you get appointed as the Knight-Captain of Crossroad Keep? If so, I think you may have missed it, yes. You need to see the encounter where the Academy Headmaster intervenes in order for the cutscene with him and Sydney Natale to be played, which then triggers the subsequent events.

A cut scene with the Headmaster and Sydney Natale should play while transitioning areas in Neverwinter following the second attack in Act I. I think you may need Qara in your party for that, but I am unsure. After that there is another cut scene between the Headmaster and Natale. Then nothing else happens until Act III when Qara's subplot is concluded with an encounter.

 Yeah, I'm about to go do the initial assault on Crossroads Keep, so I just met Sydney Natale in her role as ambassador of Luskan.

 I tried a couple of times to get that third Qara encounter to trigger by entering and exiting the Sunken Flagon with her in the party, prior to meeting Natale, but no dice. I guess the script to start it just isn't there in Act II. Oh well.

Also there is an encounter with the head master when you go into the orc caves....I been haveing her with me as I haven't been playing any mage types the last few play throughs.
