Hello, i recently bought and installed NWN 2 from STEAM.
I tried to run it and got a black screen with a blue circular mouse cursor then the game crashed with an APPCRASH error.

I have tried these steps to fix it:
1. Put all the .exe files into compatability mode for vista and xp and ran them as administrator.
2. Ran all the files in Redist directory.
3. installed the c++ libraries straight from the microsoft site.
4. Installed DirectX June 2010 SDK (dx9)
5. installed latest video drivers
6. *edit* i have verified the integrity fo game cache

corsair ssd games drive 120gb (12gb free)

Have you allowed Steam to review all the files and replace any it finds problematic?

ah yes, i have verified the integrity of the game cache.
Forgot about that one!
