Ok, now I'm going for the final battle already... Howe and Loghain are dead. The queen is still the queen, had to kill Zevran cause he turned his back on me as soon as his friends showed up, Morrigan went away afer I refused to have a son with her to let the kid "absorb" the archdemon...  Question for you guys: after the end of the game, is there any kind of "New Game Plus", where I can just get the same character and play the game again? If the answer is yes, do I start from scratch or do I start with the level, weapons, armors and everything from the previous playthrough?

Good luck! I romanced Leliana my first go round, as well. Once you get to the final end game (after Loghain) I found it VERY hard to finish up romances, so best of luck!


Interesting decisions, all round! No Dark Ritual, choosing Anora over Alistair... its always interesting to see what people choose on their first go at the game!

Let us know when you start the final battle!

No, you have to start with a new character. (best to try another origin...) The only alternative would be to load the earliest savegame you have... You can import your finished character into Awakening, Golems of A., and Witch Hunt, however.

I did things a little different this time (since I had to use a save from before de Landsmeet). I killed Loghain, and Alistair got "married" to Anora... When the other grey warden said "shall I fail, one of you will have to kill the archdemon" I knew I would have to choose between Alistair or my character. So I made sure that Alistair "volunteered" for it. My grey warden will not die after all of this.
I must admit though, when Alistair talked to me and said "either way, we won't get out of here together" and told it was an honour to have fought at my side, I got a cold chill going through my spine (I mean it). It was like saying goodbye to a brother! Really intense!
Anyway, right now I killed both generals from the darkspawn, and I have to defend the gates with Oghren as commander. At his side I have Shale, the dog (which I named Drago, in honour of Rocky IV and the name of the game) and Sten. No army have been deployed yet.
Let's see what happens now! **a little afraid**  **the game is giving me the same feelings of the first ME**

I love hearing about your experiences with the game. DA:O has a lot of re-play value. It's interesting to play again, and again.... The choices you make in DA:O do make a difference in how things go. Good job on getting Leliana !

Try out the Dwarven Noble next time. The politics of Orzammar will affect your in that playthrough...same as the commoner but it has more impact as a Noble, and honestly makes who you make king, the Anvil of the Void, considerably more difficult.

And it's fun being a dwarf while dealing with the elves. They know their hatred of me is unjustified (unlike the Shemlen) but go along not trusting me anyway.

That's probably what I'm gonna do... Only after I play everything through the end of DA2, then I might go back and try a different path.

I didn't finish DAO yet. Still making my way through the hordes of darkspawn to the archdemon...

About Riorden, I have one thing to say: "Helluva Grey Warden, tried to fight the archdemon by himself and then died. But I'll never forget when we fought one thousand darkspawn with our bare hands... I got out with a scratch in my arm. No darkspawn survived..." -> Zaeed about Riorden.

Sometimes I feel that I should have convinced Alistair to have the Dark Ritual... But I don't know... Letting a witch walk away with a baby archdemon in her arms, doesn't feel like a good idea... It's unfortunate that Alistair will have to die though...

Just to clarify, the Archdemon is a corrupted old god. The baby will have the soul of the old god, and no corruption will be present.

But still, go with your gut.

**** her if she thinks I am not going to track her down and kill her evil son eventually with any of my characters. Even if it weren't going to be tainted before, it is now, yeah I'm a dick but hey so is she...

I think that I properly misunderstood you, but for good measure. Do Awakening before DA2, since it comes chronological before da2.

Actually, I understood, what I meant was that I'll play every expansion packs, dlcs and such from DAO, then DA2 and it's dlc, and only after that I'll go back to the beginning.

The thing about the dark ritual, is that even if everything looks ok, the child is not corrupted and everything... I don't know... I still don't trust Morrigan. After all, she was raised by Flemeth, who could morph into a dragon... If her son is a mix of a Grey Warden, a witch, and has the sleeping power of an evil god, it's like a nuke awaiting to be activated...

Yeah, but even if her intentions aren't bad, what if the soul inside the kid "awakes" and finds out that now he's even more powerful than before? **Deep breath** Implications, unpleasant.

But I'll probably have another walkthrough doing the dark ritual anyway...

You know – even with Riordan dead, Alistair isn't the only Grey Warden in Denerim...

(though this would skip a lot of good dialogue afterwards... so I wouldn't recommend that route for the first playthrough...)
