Whatever the case, this myth needs to die.

Do you honestly believe they'd have spent an entire novel to establish how weak Cerberus was now and somewhat building up the Batarians to being harvested, including adding lines from TIM which includes him considering working with Shepard again, with Cerberus as villains?

So if TIM/Cerberus adopt the Reapers' methods, Shepard really shouldn't support that either

Will Shepard kill the Asari, the Salarians and anybody else who studies the Reapers after the Reaper Invasion?

No, it was not planned from the start. That much is obvious. If I were to concede that is was though then I'd have to say that Bioware did a ****ty job with foreshadowing as usual.

However we know that they didn't plan it because everything we've heard about their development process has talked about how chaotic it is. They make it up as a they go along and they do pander to fans. That's why we got Legion. It's why we got Tali and Garrus and it is why we are getting a Prothean and a body for EDI.

laecraft,

It's pretty clear you know those scenarios for betrayal are all a massive stretch.

Why? Indoctrination can do this to a person. Using it, I can turn any character into a villain. It's a very convenient ME literary device. I don't even need any motivations.

The foreshadowing and the hints are all over the story if you look. You should be distrustful of everyone! Everyone's acting strange. Organics are weak. Every character has a flaw for the Reapers to exploit.

And, in Liara's case, I don't even need indoctrination. It's impossible to miss how merciless and evil she is in LotSB. The material is right here, no need to add or alter anything. In fact, her behavior in LoTSB would finally start making sense if she betrayed Shepard in ME3.

She's not to be trusted, she's lying to Shepard. She's very manipulative, and she's been using her asari mental powers to try and blind Shepard with her charms, to make him do whatever she wants. That's why she beds Shepard so quickly. She's been using Shepard ever since ME1. First to get a safe place, a protection against Saren. Then to get the SB base. Then she needed time as she got a handle on SB resources.

And finally, she doesn't need Shepard anymore. Shepard is one of the few who knows who SB truly is. He has become a liability. She needs to kill him to protect her identity - the last remaining thing of concern that stands between her and the massive galactic slaughter war as she destroys the galaxy side by side with her beloved Feron.

This was a bad idea. Nevermind. Image IPB

TIM. <3

You got Joker so wrong, because there's no way in hell that he (or EDI, for that matter) will serve or claim any gifts from the Reapers.

Joker joined Cerberus because they let him fly. EDI is Reaper tech.

I can stretch just as far as the writers of ME3! If you think this doesn't make sense, why does TIM betrayal make sense then?

Sorry to cop-out but the novels mean nothing to me. Haven't read them. They're all a lie.

Study it?? No, I mean literally use it for reaping.

The whole EDI sub-plot in ME3 shows BW has the best interests of it's fanbase of little kids and sexual degenerates at heart. That and Ash's new Ninja Gaiden/DOA inspired outfit.

You've been on these forums, right?

Because that is, like, 99% of the users right there.

I include myself under the sexual degenerate category.

And yet if you'd gotten to visit TIM's rape dungeon, you'd be squeeing to Hell and back.

I don't follow him much, so I guess I don't know if that's normal beavior for him.

...and since this thread after all is about humorous generalizations, we can now say that renegades all make cheap insults! Right, OP?

Note, I don't actually believe that, I'm just satirizing.

If they pander to fans, why are they pissing off huge fanbases at a time? Majority of all of the Miranda, Jack, Thane, Jacob and just about all other ME2 squadmates' fanbases are bummed as hell over not getting them back. I'm sure most fans would much rather have at least one of these back rather than the new additions. Last I checked, EDI isn't ragingly popular amongst fans, even casual ones. More like an afterthought.

Fan-pandering would be including them all, to make everyone happy. Seeing as making everyone happy is clearly not the goal, they are not including everyone. I think the fact they considered the ME2 squad "too large" clearly indicates that they want quality over quantity this go around, at the expense of individual fan factions that would probably prefer the opposite.

@EternalAmbiguity: That wasn't a "cheap insult" - it was him being controversial - please understand the vast depth of your average Renegade before making assumptions.

Fortunately, I have my Saphra-to-English dictionary to help aid my interpretation of your post.

Actually yeah, you are pretty spot on. I provided counter arguments, but you casually threw them out. At that point I'm done. If you are just going to throw out facts there isn't much left to discuss.

It is also somewhat subjective. I think your fears about Cerberus growing into a massive galactic army are silly. There is just no basis for these fears as far as I can see (which is why ME3 is so laughable to me). However you insist on that conclusion so...

What else can I say?

rofl, I missed this post. Actually, I addressed everything you said. About three specific examples from the base alone, none of which you refuted past stating "lol."

I'd repeat them, but you probably won't read it anyway seeing as we're already at the wrong side of the imaginary line between what you read and what you ignore.
