The point was allowing the warden/player to get some closure (leave with her, punish her) with Morrigan, a popular character with an important role in Origins.

Also, it served to foreshadow Flemeth's future role in the series.

I don't see the OG baby plot going anywhere though, if only because in the games of maybe half of the players it didn't happen.

And the Warden/Morrigan will probably not come back. Flemeth will.

The point of Witch Hunt was to take the poignant farewell between the Warden and Morrigan at the Denerim gates and expand it into a DLC while vaguely foreshadowing the future of Dragon Age (Flemeth is up to something etc).

I was disappointed by Witch Hunt for two reasons. Firstly because it was marketed as a chance to confront Morrigan about all the unanswered questions she left behind, and after it was done I knew nothing more than before I played with the exception that instead of hiding out "somewhere" she was now hiding out "beyond the Fade".  Secondly because it was released the same week as LotSB for ME2, possibly the same day, and suffers in comparison. Both essentially deal with the same situation, resolving issues with a previous companion/LI, but whereas LotSB was entertaining and advanced Liara as a character Witch Hunt...didn't do that for Morrigan.

Once they get the whole plot flag thing resolved for upcoming DA stuff I'm sure it'll have it's place!

I'd like to agree that it was wasted potential.

So much could of been done with it. Hell, what they SHOULD of done with DA2 was allow you to continue to play as the Warden, AND fully voiced him/her. And ALL iterations and variances should be playable. Going away with Morrigan and meeting your child, being the king of Fereldan, the lover and/or queen of Alistair, running away with Leliana/Zevran, councilor to king Alistair, etc. THAT would of made the game so epic it could of very well been one of the best of all time.

So what if the darkspawn blight was quelled. There are TONS of other things that can spring up that could use the talents of the Warden. All the political intrigue, infighting, wars, invasions, the fade, who knows what else. That tired ass line about the Warden only being useful in a blight is just weak. Would it have taken a year or two more to flesh out all the possible outcomes and variances depending on how you played the Warden ? Sure. But it would of been WORTH THE WAIT.

I'm not saying DA2 is entirely awful, but the iteration I mentioned above would of been so much more epic.
