Much as it could be interesting, I doubt inter-species children are possible. However, it shouldn't stop Shepard and Tali from having children, adoption is always a viable route.

Or Talimancers can just hire Ashley as a surrogate, I'm sure she wouldn't mind.

Hey all ! Okay so I'm not asking if there are gona be children in mass effect 3. I was just wondering if it was possible for Shepard and Tali to have children.
Cause it would really make the difference between Tali and Liara in my choice of LI.
I think its a negative, but if someone out there had a canon answer then it would be cool :P
Thanks !!!:P

Has anyone in this thread bothered to actually read the part I bolded?
From what I understand the OP DOESN'T WANT children with the game LI (though I may be wrong, I'm quite drowsy, so my reading comprehension is not at its finest)...
How come when someone sees "Tali" (or other alien LI) and "child" in the same sentence he/she doesn't even bother to read the rest of the post and just assumes the OP wants to have children with said LI?

If so rest assured that any alien LI is incapable of having children with Shepard (except Liara of course), also of the human LIs Miranda is said in game to be incapable of concieving (probably something her father planned...), while the remaining ones should be capable of procreation (assuming Shepard himself/herself is even fertile anymore)...

Hey look, another Tali "sweat" thread. Looking forward to when ME3 releases to read what other nonsensical topics the mancers can come up with.

Is ****ing all that MJmancers do?

I can give you a biological answer. In a word, no. This is because the DNA is completely incompatible with each person. In fact, the chemistry of the DNA is different for each species because the amino acid composition is different. This means that the alleles differ significantly and that is where the heart of the coding resides.

The Asari are different in that they do not take DNA from other species, but rather use the mental connection to randomize their own code. I have to think that this would engender some new code creation as a part of the randomization process because if not, the DNA coding for the Asari would be very limited. As such, I believe that it would be possible for the Asari to evolve much more quickly than other species as a result of this replicative process, but there is no canon evidence to support this.

I would even go so far as to say that the Ardat Yakshi is a product of genetic dead ending due to the limitations of the Asari DNA replicative process because those afflicted are sterile which prevents destructive genetic code from becoming widespread in the species which would be similar in function to cellular apoptosis. Perhaps this is the true reason for Asari reproductive pairings becoming anathema in their culture, the survival of their species demands it. That having been said, you should be aware that I am just spit balling here because it is a hypothetical problem. A geneticist could give you a more complete answer and probably a better one than I.

I know that you Shepard can have children with Liara (or any other Asari for that matter), but I'm not too sure about Tali. Isn't she quite young too?

Tali is 24, so age has nothing to do with it.

24? Where does it say that?

ME 2 squadmember roster has tiny bit of info of their backrounds including their age, some might have unknown. Also Tali's aunt mentions 24 - 25 years during her loyalty mission.

Ashley does mind *pulls out boomstick*
And so I do.

I'm sure it's possible for Shepard and Tali having children, but only if the Hanar are involved. It seems as if they're extremely advanced in medical tech, they might be able to "fuse" Shepard's DNS into one of Tali's ovucytes and also deal with dextro-related issues.

So I'd say: Tali/Shepard kids are possible, but it won't happen the traditional bees-and-birds-way.

Ashley and Shepard on the other hand ...

Shepard has more biological and genetic commonality with spore mold that he does with Tali, so no. It would be easier for Zaeed to have a child with Jessie.

Tali and shepard cannot procreate. They are not the same species. the only one that can with another are asari.

The following are romance options that can have kids with Shepard:

Male: Liara, Ashley, Jack, Kelly
Female: Kaidan, Jacob, and Liara

The following cannot:

Male: Tali, Miranda
Female: Garrus, Thane

If Shepard does have kids though, it will be in the prologue

Not sure about Miranda. She's infertile, but I'm sure she still have any needed organs for procreation. It shouldn't be too difficult for medicine in 22nd century to allow Miranda becoming a mother.

LOL Closure. Like saving the galaxy from space cthulu's and finishing off the game wasn't closure enough, you need to have 'children'. For the sake of 'closure'. Lmao.

I don't think Jack would have children , she has been through a lot of painfull experiments that would most likely prevent her from children even if she could I don't think she is the perental type

This is not a feature of Mass Effect 3. You can specualte about Shepard and "X" having kids in any of the threads dedicated to characters in the Character and Romance discussion forum.
