As we have not heard anything about pre-order bonuses by now along with the announcement that there will be no Dr. Pepper-type promotions this time could/should we assume that there won't be any retailer exclusive pre-order bonus/promotional shinanigans this time for ME3 like there was with Mass Effect 2?

Anybody remember how much of a headache it was trying to get hold of armor codes, etc and personally I think this would be great news for the ME community if this means that nobody will be indefinately locked out of content for simply looking for the best deal.

Hopefully not. Pre order bonuses should be banned.

I hope so. I've been holding back on pre-ordering Mass Effect 3 untill the pre-order bonuses are on the table. I don't want to miss out on the good stuff simply by going with the wrong retailer.

The stupid thing about this stuff is I'm sure BioWare would make more money from it in the end and the fans would be happier too if all the extra bonus armors, weapons, etc were just sold on Xbox Live, BSN, PSN, etc. from the get go instead.

I didn't pre-order for bonuses anyway. I pre-order so it could be paid off, and not worry about it until it comes out.

Though I couple of games have broken the trend recently. With most games we usually know about the pre-order bonuses by now if they are going to have them.  Simply because they want time to lure people to buy these kinds of items at their stores.  Which is the point of seller specific pre-order bonuses in the first place.

It's a safe assumption for the most part that there aren't gonna be any store specific pre-order bonuses for Mass Effect with a wait and see contingency to that statement.

uhm.......what is wrong with prorder bonuses like different skins?

As long as it's not game breaking and minimal/inconsequential what is the big problem?

especially if they are later made available to everyone

Why?
I'd like to see early access to demo ... that's not a "bad bonus", but one every pre-order fan deserves B)

I agree^.
I would rather buy bonus armor and weapons on Xbox Live, because it's faster and I wouldn't be worried if I couldn't find my pre-order bouns code in my copy of the game.

Except in ME2 they weren't made available later, and it was a weapon and an armor set.

once the hype has died down a bit for the Collectors Edition pre-ordering... you can bet your ass pre-order bonuses will start popping up. how else do you think Gamestop is going to get you to buy ME3 from their store?

OH, they'll definitely do it. EA, Gamestop, DR Pepper, will all have something, just like they did with BF3.

The only bonuses I heard so far is the CE extras and the "Galaxy at War" thing that will work like the Cerberus Network (as in if you buy the game new, it is free and you get stuff.)

I am hoping there won't be any pre-order bonuses because,

1) That may require me moving my CE pre-order to another store (which would suck and might be sold out there), and

2) I hate spending 30-45 minutes installing all the add-ons before playing the actual game

i HATE in game items i cant get my hands on individually. take ME2s collector edition and the collectors assault rifle. i mean i really really wish there was an AR available that was really accurate, much like the collector AR, but i CANT HAVE IT, because its exclusive to the collector edition. if you ask me, i say thats dumb. literally. its fine if its included, but then later on everyone ahould be able to get those same features.

even tho i think ME2 kindof sucked, i ordered ME3 collector edition becasue i dont want to miss out on important-to-me features that might be something id use one every character in every playthrough, much like what i would have done with ME2s collector AR.

Nothing of the sort was mentioned to me by the clerk.

Preorder bonuses should only be physical items. Nothing to do with the actual gameplay...

We do not have any retailer specific pre-order bonuses confirmed.

However, this does not mean that they could not happen between now and launch. Retailers have hd a busy fall period and are now moving into the Christmas rush. It is possible something could happen before launch if wanted by retailers.

If any specific retailer exclusives are created, we will let you know.

Not holding my breath on anything until TOR is released (i.e. January). If nothing is announced then, then there probably won't be such bonuses, for which I would be thankful.

Nano suit without all the nano suit powers? Nah, that will kind of ruin the experience for me.
