I really liked all the characters. I'm not picky at all and I got friendly with everybody. However I can divide chars into 2 group.

1) Those that I really trust to do the job right, no matter what. It is:
Morinth, Liara, Grunt, Legion, Zaeed,

Not suprised at that one.

And you shouldn't be. Are you surprised about any other choices on the first group? These 5 actually share some traits that make them similar in a way, that makes me trust them.

Since the other 4 have almost nothing in common with Morinth yeah I'm a little suprised.

Do you atleast see what the 4 have incommon and what makes them different from the other squad members?

Not seeing too much commonality between them. Difference compared to other suadmates I can see though.

It's:

1) They are not sensetive to paragon/renegade and don't have the idea of ''the right thing.''
( Liara got into this list only after ME2, if it was her ME1 self she wouldn't be here.)
2) They do not have a lot to lose, and are not tight by codes, laws, relationships. Carring for Shepard probably won't mess with the mission.
( Though today somebody told me that Grunt cares about his clan quite much, so he might actually come off the list. ) 
3) They are enough emotionally stable to be adaquite in any situation. 
( Zaeed's head is clear as ever after Vido's death. )

Basically imagine giving every squad member an order to kill a little defensless child. You will end up with only these doing it. Not that I want to do that kind of things, it just makes me trust them, and these are the kinds of squad mates to achive things in the situation at hands. They will not abandon Shepard for other things, or very dangerous situations against odds.

Liara's a bit more ruthless now but I doubt she'd go as far as killing a child. As far as Zaeed goes, his loyalty is fickle considering he's just a gun for hire.

Liara will do it for Shepard, maybe not for anyone, but for Shepard she will. Specially if Shepard is a romance. 

Zaeed is a smart man that want's to walk away alive, he won't argue about stupid things when the whole galaxy can perish. I don't think money is what he wants now that he has been enlightened on an issue he had no idea about. Besides he will probably get plenty once everything is done.

*This is not saying Liara is a bad character; her VA and emotions show are steller, as is the role she plays(the SB), but I just didnt like her as a person
** Morinth truly disgusts me on a social and mental level, the way she is, is more Reaper and less, well, human in both desires and actions. Again not a badly designed character, but one I cant stand to be near

And you're missing Morith there, jreezy, but I can guess how you feel on her, lol.

No I said she will do it for SHEPARD. It doesn't matter who plays Shepard. I also said that it is more likely if she is romanced.

Edit: Out of my top 5 only one is a squad mate. I have just realized how much suck this game might end up being for me.

Sorry, just saw this. No, not really. Do you have any in-game evidence that supports your conclusion?

I am not 100% sure. When I think about a situation in my head, she seems like she would do it. 
Maybe I am wrong and maybe she has to go off the list. Maybe romance is the turning point. I think that Shepard can influance her a lot though, she cares great deal for Shepard. 

Though she is rather odd in ME2. Bringing Shepard back from the dead because she couldn't let go and letting Shepard go on a suicide mission without joining. Her behaviour is not easily understood.

Or maybe she did let go in those 2 years that Shepard was being rebuilt? Then she probably doesn't care the great deal for Shepard and goes off the list, since her morals are a bit different from the others I've mentioned.
