-Daxter (Jak and Daxter series)
-Lightning (FFXIII)
-Lara Croft (Tomb Raider Legend/Anniversary)
-Faith (Mirror's Edge)
-The Prince (Prince of Persia:Sands of Time)
-Monkey (Enslaved)

Personally the best protagonists in games for me are the ones I can create myself. It's not that I don't appreciate others characters and creations, its just I feel closer to the ones I can drum up.

Mine include:
-The Grey Warden (Dragon Age: Origins)
-Hawke (Dragon Age 2)
-Commander Shepard (my personal fshep, NOT Sheploo...I hate Sheploo)
-Michael Thornton (Alpha Protocol)
-The Boss (Saints Row)

As for non-creatable characters:
-Lightning (Final Fantasy XIII, despite being a mess of a game I loved Lightning)
-Kasumi (Dead or Alive)
-Sophitia (Soul Edge)
-Liu Kang (Mortal Kombat)
-Nariko (Heavenly Sword, haven't played the game but love her design)
-Ryu (Street Fighter)
-Jin (Tekken 3/Post Tekkens)
-Jimmy Hopkins (Bully, despite being a moron he beats up bullies and causes catfights)

I haven't played Deus Ex or Assassin's Creed but I will admit Ezio and Adam Jensen are pretty freaking hot. I wouldn't mind presets that have their features in future BioWare games.
