EA runs Bioware maybe some on here now need to get use to it . ME 3 is being made to appeal to everyone .
Which is why it won't.
As a company they should realise that not everybody wants and likes the same thing. That's why new games lately are starting to bore me for the most part: they're all essentially the same for the most part, but merely dressed in slightly different clothing. With a few rare exceptions, almost every AAA is a story-driven, semi-cinematic action game with light RPG elements. There's little in the way of variation and freshness because every publisher is going for the same overall pie and all trying to see how far they can spread their flypaper to nab the most amount of flies.
The problem is that RPG fans want a certain amount of RPG a lot of the time, and don't want too many of these simple action elements either. What ME2 and DA2 are doing is trying to appeal to too many gamers and in the process their watering down and cutting out a lot of what RPG fans like, and also bringing in a lot of what we don't. Of course a lot of people call us elitist for this and thing that we think we're better than other gamers for wanting complexity and hating these simpler mechanics, but the basic point is we just want something that's got a bit more meat on it and doesn't baby us or do the work for us. We want to be able to play and customise, we want complexity and complexity means having to actually engage some grey matter now and then and not just considering "who does I kill next." And the problem is that every developer is making sure even the stupidest and laziest person can play their games because they still want them buying their games, so they try and make their games as simple as possible. That doesn't mean shooter players are all stupid, but it does mean that today's games are being made more stupid. Just like a traveling group is only as fast as its slowest member, today's games are only as smart as the dumbest person they're aimed at. And today's developers are aiming pretty damn low.
As you said, ME3 is being made to appeal to everyone. And everyone includes a whole lot of stupid morons.

You know I've realized something. That art book included with the collector's edition of ME3 depicts it as a 2D game! A 2D game!? Even though it is obviously rough sketches this must mean BW has made ME3 into a 2D game!!!! The nerve! Let us all cancel our pre-orders and play The Witcher 2...
The W2 concepts are 2D as well...quick let us all play rogue-like games because those are the only ones true to their concept art.

While I see your point, one must keep in mind that there are certain parallels between ME2 and DA2, and thus possibly ME3 and DA2. As long as these parallels are being reflected and illustrated, surely raising them is relevant to ME3?

The thread is about bioware "fans". I and others are comparing DA2 to ME3, and the many changes andthe company in general.

So...what? If ME2 had an inventory system, and the mako along with ME2's combat y'all would've been happy? Do those things make RPGs these days? I must be a drooling shooter fan for not realizing that.
Did we not go over this already?

Because Phaedon said it is in his confirmed features thread. Get with the program!
In all seriousness though, this thread should probably get locked. It's been done so many times before, and nobody wins the argument.
