If anyone could help me solve the following problem I'd be most gratful.

The games runs perfectly up to the point of Joker giving EDI control of normandy after the ship has been boarded.  After EDI takes the ship away from the collector ship and asks if Joker is okay and he replies, the cut scene ends and the loading screen starts.  However the game doesn't load it just keeps the loading screen up and I can't start the final mission.  I can't quit the game or end the task through windows and I have to physically restart my computer.

My specs are as follows:
OS - Windows 7
Processor - Intel Core Duo 1.86
Memory - 4GB
Hard Drive - 1TB
Video Card - GeForce 9600 GT
Sound Card - Creative SB X-Fi 

Game was bought on DVD and the following free downloads, from Bioware, have been installed:
Cerberus Arc
Cerberus Weapon Armour
HammerHead
Normandy Crash and
Zaeed
Patched to version 1.02

No unofficial mods have been used with this game

I have played the game on maximum settings throughout the campaign and there haven't been any issues to this point.  I have tried playing the game on minimum settings to get past the crash point but I still end up with a crashed game.  Can anyone help please?

Could you register your game on here? That way we know if it's an official copy. That crash sounds very familiar to one i recall that effected illegally cracked versions of the game.

I have registered the game now. Thanks for your quick reply.  Have you got any ideas as to what is wrong with my game now that I have registered it?

Does the crash always happen in the exact same spot? If so it's probably a corrupt file which will either be the save file or the game files. You can try starting from an earlier save and playing to that point again and seeing if the crash happens again. If it's the game files a simple uninstall and reinstall should solve the problem. Make sure you're not running other programs at the same time as installing it'll reduce chances of a corrupt install. You'll get an option to keep your saves and date before uninstalling just make sure you check the box. If none of this works come back and we'll look at some other more complicated possibilities.

A lot of times with these things the easiest solution works best.

I've tried playing from an earlier save but the game crashes at the same point. I'll try your suggestion of uninstalling and reinstalling. Thanks for your advice.

I've uninstalled and re-installed the game, patch and downloads and this has resolved the problem. Thanks for your help.

Oh good. I like when the simple option solves things otherwise it can get more time consuming. And for you who just wants to get on with your game you don't want that. I'm glad you can get on with more important things like finishing off your game ^^
