So we shouldn't say anything about it ?

Dang, all this time, I had it all wrong about forums :o !

It seems you are trying to use it to make some specific point about Liara (vs., say...Jacob or Garrus).

Given that Liara is prone to deep and certainly overwhelming attachment to things, her revenge would become something unnatural.  The Shadowbroker was going to give Shepard over to the Collector's in a way that seems sacrilegious and of course, her attachment to Feron (which is a given because she develops a strong emotional bonds rather quickly due to the sometimes nebulous and sometimes contentious relationship she had with her mother).  I see that Liara devoting everything she had to becoming an information brokers as a means to getting to the Shadowbroker, her latest obsession.

Good post.

I enjoy Liara as a character. I don't think she's contrived.

She can use Singularity true but nobody ever said her biotics were matriarch level.

Singularity > All. The lore (not the gameplay; I prefer Pull to Singularity myself) says it's the ultimate Biotic skill which usually requires many years to master, i.e. a Matriarch level skill.

And there are Matriarchs/Matriarch-level Biotics (Samara, Morinth, Jack) incapable of using Singularity.

The thing I've never gotten is why Jack is referred to as the most powerful human biotic when Adept Shepard is so obviously superior.

Adept Shep is prolly a really powerful biotic but no one really knows cuz really Biotic Shep is practically non existant everyones just impressed by your Shep's athletic and combat skills.

The only time Biotic Shep is somewhat mentioned is with kaidan and the L3 implant, and if Kaidan is considered to be a powerful Biotic and he says he doens't spike higher than Shep, then Shep should be a pretty strong biotic.

I mean even Liara's somewhat impressed with his skill.
Liara though is prolly on Sheps level, and Jack is prolly on a higher level but for gameplay reasons Shep is the King.

People take this WAY too seriously.

Gameplay =/= Lore.

Nowhere is it said that squadmates without singularity are less powerful than those that do have it in their skillset, that's just what is included/excluded as a matter of balancing gameplay, it would really break the choice of squadmates and usefulness if any of them had singularity as one of their two skills.

Why is it that people who play RPG's have so much trouble understanding this ?

So that players will feel immerseful to the world/asspulls won't occur for the sake of plot/gameplay for a few that get annoyed by gameplay/story segregation? As well as prevent players from being underwhelmed by it turns out that the character's achievements turn out to be just hype/exaggerations.

I just finished LotSB yesterday, and I see no reason why Liara would return to the Normandy. With that power and those resources, why would she? Why would she choose to endanger her life on the frontlines when she could do so much more for Shepard and co. from behind a desk?

I haven't read spoilers on her role in ME3, but just knowing that she's a permanent party member makes it seem like her setup as Shadow Broker was done for shock value. Well, I'm shocked. Now could Liara's character begin to get treated less like play-doh?

Nope she is permanent squadmember.
It does not make any sense to remain to Halagaz since Cerberus knows where the SB base is now. It is much safer to go with Shepard and brings all the datas with her. Mobility is a tactical value that is why the previous SB was defeated

OK, but... she's... fighting? On the frontlines? Is this really the optimal place for the new Shadow Broker to be fighting the war from?

She seems to prefer fighting with Shepard instead of staying behind a desk....maybe it is not safe for her but not everything is logic. She is quite capable with biotics so she is not defenseless...if you think it is illogic do not bring her to missions as far as i know you can....problem solved

She's only on the team to serve as the team's guaranteed Adept. For that, her story and character development have been butchered. Vega's the team's Soldier, *spoiler character* the Engineer.

Liara should've been a quest giver and temporary team member, not a permanent one.

Taking over the ship in LOTSB was made pointless much like the Batarian plot buildup in Arrival or ALL of Overlord for that matter.

Liara is in the front line because of the same reason Shepard is in the frontline.

Shepard is THE most important person in the galaxy. More important than Liara.

If Shepard dies the whole galaxy is fu*ked.

Why would Shepard risk everything and his life going into the frontline. When he can bark orders all day.

Answer me that question. And you have your answer to Why Liara is in the front line.

You know, I've seen "Why Garrus isn't a SpeCTRe while VS is?" and couple of "Cerberus was wrong!" threads recently and already started to wonder when it will come to Liara's ME3 role. And here we go. Cycle will never be broken.
